CL Talks About Attending International Schools & Her Favorite American TV Show

If you don't follow the K-Pop scene, you might not know 23-year-old Korean singer/rapper CL. She became famous in Asia as a member of the girl group 2NE1 but is now going solo. Backed by Scooter Braun, she's making a push in America this year and we imagine you'll be seeing a lot more of her very soon.

To get familiar we caught up with CL to talk about her US takeover and plans for the future. But after talking to her about whether or not her group broke up and if she'll sex up her image to gain traction in the US, we had a less serious conversation with her about her favorite American food and why she considers herself an "open book."

I wish I could spend a few hours with her just talking and sharing experiences and stories. She's so relaxed and at ease and makes you feel at ease too when she speaks. I love how mature she is and how playful she can be at the same time. She's really admirable. And yes to Friends because let's face it who doesn't love Friends.

I don't mind the blonde on CL but I wish she would either go black (like Missing You era) or her caramel hair color during Do You Love Me era. Especially since she is most likely going to be compared to Iggy, a haircolor besides platinum blonde would be nice.

Totally agree.
I have this tiny suspicion that one factor for the platinum hair might be to make her look less typically Asian - which is BS, but she's been stressing that they want to represent a different picture of Asian women, and knowing the clusterfuck of the entertainment industry, I can totally see some dumbass stylist going, "Let's get rid of the black to make you stand out from all the other Asians with black straight hair! Let's make you look not like one of those Harajuku girls!"
Although I sincerely hope she simply likes the color and that's the reason it's the way it is.

This interview made me like her some more. I think she's chilled out considerably from what turned me off from her before (too OTT...then again that could just be some aspects of her stage persona). And ahahhaha @ "what kind of student were you". What an Asian question. I'd only expect that question in an interview with an Asian magazine.

I hope she does well and that she will be well received in the US. Friggin Iggy tho...made it that harder. Hope no one calls her a Korean Iggy even though it will most likely happen
