The drama depicts the last six months of Park Jung Hwan's life, one of the prosecutors working on anti-corruption department. Before the brain tumor takes his life, he is determined to expose the frauds and misconducts committed by his superior, Lee Tae Joon. He also struggles to make amends with his ex-wife Shin Ha Kyung and their daughter Ye Rin, for all his indifferent attitudes in the past.
Lee Tae Joon (Jo Jae Kyun) is the Public Prosecutor General, a jovial man with a thick Kyungsangdo accent who hums trot songs all day long. He’s got the outward appearance and personality of a gregarious village chief, while hiding an ice-cold disposition underneath. He’s famous for stripping countless prosecutors of their jobs, and has a long history of backdoor illegal activity, which he naturally keeps under wraps. Shin Ha-kyung (Kim A-joong) is a prosecutor who has refused extremely high-paying jobs at large firms, and instead fights for justice.
Park Jung-Hwan (Kim Rae-Won) is the chief of the anti-corruption investigation team for the Supreme Prosecutors' Office. To get to his position, he has made compromises on achieving justice. Park Jung-Hwan then learns that he has a malignant brain tumor and does not have much time to left. To end his life without regrets, he points a gun at corrupt Public Prosecutor General Lee Tae-Joon (Cho Jae-Hyun). Park Jung-Hwan’s ex-wife Shin Ha-Gyung (Kim A-Joong), who is also a prosecutor, knows about Park Jung-Hwan’s situation and helps him. (Asianwiki)
The drama will be about prosecutors high-up in the supreme court — the hero is a chief investigative prosecutor named Park Jeong-hwan (Kim Rae-won) who finds out he has six months left to live, and on the other side is a prosecutor general Lee Tae-joon (Jo Jae-Kyun) who’s neck-deep in corruption. The drama follows the last six months of the hero’s life after he finds out he’s dying, and is described as “the story of a man who throws his final punch at the world, as he says farewell to this life.(Dramabeans)

Also Junghwan's allies did their thing...CHOI YEOJIN LIKE A BOSS!!! REPORTED IT AT THE RETIREMENT PRESS CONFERENCE AND DRANK THAT EVIL COW'S TEA ON HER WAY TO YEOUIDO!
When Yoon Jisook was talking all that trash to the Chief of Staff about arresting Lee Tae Joon and then she got busted...his face and that conversation with Lee Tae Joon was hilarious.
SHIN HA KYUNG WAS EVERYTHING DURING YOON JISOOK'S AND LEE HO SUNG'S TRIAL.
I will say that sentence was some BS though...THEY WERE CAUGHT ON CAMERA LEAVING THE SCENE AND COVERING UP THE MURDER ATTEMPT AND VIOLATING THE CONSCRIPTION LAW AND ONLY 15 YEARS INSTEAD OF THE LIFE SENTENCE? It's even more upsetting that the news shows Korean law is really like that.”
Anyway...yes I enjoyed the show. FLAWLESS VICTORY

Date: 2015-02-18 07:22 am (UTC)I absolutely love how smart Junghwan was about leaving that memory card in the envelope with the retirement speech. Like. I honestly didn't think of it until Hosung was handing the envelope and I was like, "Did he...?" Flawlessly executed, though I wish Lee Taejoon was smarter about it so things could've happened faster.
And and and I do love how Yoon Jisook's words come to bite her minutes after she said them. Still pissed she's only getting 15 years but ah well.
Also: I found it interesting that out of the two "boss" baddies, I could empathize with Lee Taejoon but was utterly disgusted with Yoon Jisook. Maybe it's because she started out as one of the "good" guys, or maybe it's because Lee Taejoon had enough humanity in him to place family above his ambitions whereas Yoon Jisook just let her son take the blame for her crime (after fighting with her lmao "conscience" and "protective instinct" as a mother).
Taejoon- and Junghwan's relationship will always be one of the high points of this entire drama for me. In the end, I believe they truly cared for each other (with some limitations, obv, but there you go). I was crying when Taejoon was watching that drinking video. ;A;

Date: 2015-02-18 12:08 pm (UTC)To see her hypocritical actionsFINALLY get exposed to someone who could do something about it...greatness
It's because Yoon Jisook was selfish and refused to even acknowledge her actions. Taejoon knew he was wrong in his choices but he acknowledged it. She continually made the wrong choice and claimed it was the fault of others or something that could be "paid back" by advancing higher

Date: 2015-02-19 06:31 pm (UTC)When Jung Hwan destroyed his meds while looking at the family photo in order to stay with his family and die beside his wife (and to save her life), I knew he's one of the best characters ever.
