Girl’s Day’s Sojin Shares Her Thoughts on Being a Girl Group Member in Her 30s

Girl’s Day’s Sojin, who recently confessed of turning 30 (Korean age) this year in TV show “Running Man,” shared her thoughts on being one of the older girls in the industry.

During an interview, she showed confidence as a leader of Girl’s Day saying, “It’s a time that a lot of people will have to face eventually, and I am the same. It doesn’t feel particularly weird being in a girl group as a thirty-year-old. I just think of myself as a member of six years old girl group.” She then added, “Last year, I appeared on KBS2‘s ‘Hello Counselor‘ and said I was worried about being 29 years old. At the time it seemed like a big issue. Now that I think about it, there is nothing so special about [being older].”

When asked whether she was worried about her skin or physical strength, she laughed and said, “I’ve been exercising to be physically fit since years ago, and I inherited nice skin from my mom.”

The interviewer then asked Sojin how long she will be in a girl group. She responded, “It’s not something I can answer easily. Not only do I have to consider my situations, I have to consider others around me. It’d be great to be loved and stay together with my fans and members for a long time.”

this is a nice interview(?) statement thing. i think as long as your confident/feel comfortable your age shouldn't be an issue which is why i'm glad they let her move away from what GsD used to be.

Do people think you suddenly become all decrepit when you hit 30? I'll never understand people thinking that 30 is that magic age in which you suddenly become old when physical-wise it's not any different from being in your mid/late 20s.

Same tbh. I used to worry a lot about hitting 30 but now I'm gonna hit it soon it doesn't worry me that much anymore because I still feel and look as good as when I was 21.

I feel better/have more confidence in myself at 26-almost-27 than I ever did at 20-21 tbh. I'm like you, 30 used to be "zomg da end!!1," now I'm like "bring it on!" haha

Same lol. I was soooo insecure in my early 20s. Now I'm 29-almost-30 I feel great because physically I feel/look as good as in my early 20s and I have more confidence and experience. I'd say late 20s-early 30s is the best age because you still have your looks, you have more confidence/experience and you're more financially independent.

She was so wonderful on Running Man. I didn't realize she was in her upper 20s, I thought she would be younger than me, like most idols. She's gorgeous and hilarious as hell. Can't say I follow Girl's Day, but she's definitely great. I hope to see her doing more variety stuff because she was so good!
