On the 10th, AOA member Jimin revealed her background story and feelings about appearing on Mnet's rap battle program "Unpretty Rapstar," a spinoff of "Show Me The Money," at an interview with MBN Star.
Airing its first episode on January 29, "Unpretty Rapstar" is becoming an issue of interest as a competitive hip-hop contest, but also because of how the senior artists look after the junior artists. Cheetah calls Kisum "my baby" as a term of endearment, and Jessi constantly praises Yuk Ji Dam as having "something special." These moments of endearment spread throughout an online community site and "Unpretty Rapstar" was given the nickname "The Nurturing Program." Amongst all this, Jimin is being watched over by San E, furthering the show's nurturing image.
Jimin stated with a smile, "I am so thankful to San E. He is like a father to me."
She continued, "I bumped into San E many times during the festival season last year. If San E was the last performance, we were on stage right before him, or vice versa, which is when I would greet him. I wanted to get closer to him, but I have a timid personality and don't normally approach people first, so I could only see him from afar. Through this program, however, I was able to get more closely acquainted."
She continued, "Which is why I think he is looking after me so well. He helped me a lot in the beginning to adjust to the program. I am really thankful. I will work hard so that I will be able to stand on my own."
AOA's Jimin will be both filming for "Unpretty Rapstar" and preparing for her Japanese album in the near future.
