“Unpretty Rapstar” Jessi Says Yuk Ji Dam Could Be the Next Yoon Mirae

Lucky J’s Jessi commended Yuk Ji Dam’s rapping skills on the latest episode of “Unpretty Rapstar.”

During the episode, Yuk Ji Dam was notified last minute that she would not be able to participate in the team mission because the venue where the mission would take place had a minimum age rule, and she is underage.

Despite the letdown, Block B‘s Zico, the judge and producer for the week, let her come back on for the solo battle even though her team lost and was eliminated in the preceding challenge.

Despite strong performances from Kisum and AOA’s Jimin, Yuk Ji Dam impressed not only the judges but also the other contestants with her rhymes, which included clever wordplay with Cheetah, Jessi, Jolly V, and AOA’s names.

Jessi praised Yuk Ji Dam, “To be honest, Yuk Ji Dam has the most potential [of the contestants]. After me of course. She’s still an amateur, but wait ten years… I think she could be the next Yoon Mi Rae.”

After winning first place and the opportunity to record with Zico, Yuk Ji Dam couldn’t hold back the tears, “I always lived like I was being judged whenever I was on stage. I was nervous and worried today too when I was rapping, but regardless [I’m glad] I didn’t mess up [the lyrics].”

I repeat: Lil Cham sucks and should not be in this show lol. her attitude is even more ridiculous. I never thought I'd be happy with something Zico did but the way he just brushed past her lmfao dat me. Tymee's pretty jokes. I'm trying to root for her bc I know what she's capable of and I feel like she's been through a tough time but she needs to take this more seriously. I love her personality though I would want to be friends with her.

Jessi's rant in context makes a lot more sense and Zico made the same point in his comment, and I kind of agree that on the grounds they eliminated Jessi for it was kind of ridiculous. Maybe there's some relevant stuff we're not seeing but at the end of the day it's a competition and they have the right to strategically remove people so her getting all salty about it is unnecessary.

Just finished watching and yes at my two baby girls getting some shine <3 so far the maknaes are showing up the unnies (Minus the ever flawless Cheetah).For two chicks who're supposedly some of the best Jolyl V and Tymee haven't stood out much.Lil Cham was crap.

no one else here seems to rly like tymee but i like her. shes like the grandma of the show in reality but shes so playful, its cute. and i like how she acts with the others (except jolly v, cuz i love her and i need them to hug out their differences already) ESPECIALLY her friendship with jidam awww. i also think its funny how crappy she is but she has a good attitude about it

lil cham is shockingly terrible. shes not even entertaining im rly disappointed. i feel jolly v is better than these rappers but shes p average on the show so far. cheetah is good but she keeps being held back by stupid shit i.e. her team and losing to jimin based on appearance, id be pissed if i were her

I honestly really like Kisum. I'm rooting for her (she feels like the real unerdog because no one expects her to be that good) Jidam and Cheetah. Jimin doesn't need this show, she's already popular. Jolly V and Tymee...for how hyped up and "seasoned" they are they suck. And I agree with Jessi, is Lil Cham even a rapper, she can't ride a beat AT ALL its hecka awk. Tymee is a great rapper and artist, clever, inventive, funny. The only one of these who've delivered enough stand out material to be called a unique artist, even if she was better before and her latest releases have been too serious face-y... that doesn't necessarily mean you're going to be great in a setting like this though. We'll see.

I kind of agree w/ Jessi about Yook Jidam. She could be crazy good in the future - although I don't know how much of that is her innate ability and how much of that is how others teach her how to perform. Not too impressed with the final track, but I liked the last line of the hook when she went from ppakse-->bounce it.

I actually think Jimin needs this show. She doesn't need the win obviously (does anyone actually win in the end or is it just collabs??), but this show is great for her growth and exposure as a rapper rather than an idol.
