M.I.B member Young Cream apologized for the recent controversy he caused when he uploaded a photo of a modified Korean flag.

On February 6, the rapper tweeted an image of an all blue Korean flag with the words, “Nae guk gi (or “My flag,” a play on the Korean word for the national flag, tae guk gi).”

Young Cream says, “I honestly don’t like the red in our country’s national flag. When I become president later on, I’m going to change it.”

He explains, “It doesn’t make sense that our national flag should have red in it given what red symbolizes in the Hakenkreuz (the symbol of the Nazis) and the Rising Sun Flag.”

To fans’ insistence to “not do anything that will become a controversy,” Young Cream responds, “You fools who don’t have either logic or sense, live the rest of your life like that,” adding “Barbarians who take issue [with me], go and worship the sun god.”

After the controversy blew up, Young Cream deleted the relevant photos and text and apologized, “I am sincerely sorry. I didn’t have the slightest intent to desecrate the national flag, but I got so caught up in my emotions that I couldn’t think straight. I apologize for the upset I caused.”

Article: MIB Young Cream apologizes for Korean flag controversy

1. [+2,988, -16] Foolish... The red color on the Korean flag does not have the same meaning as the red on the Japanese imperial flag. Totally different meanings... Being so dumb should be a crime.

2. [+2,652, -25] No way you have any career left for you, poor Gangnam...

3. [+2,509, -24] Is he upset that only Gangnam's popular?

4. [+2,297, -53] The Korean flag is something that even the president can't edit or change. Nobody can. The Korean flag is above the president. If you don't like it, leave for another country and stop embarrassing us. I've never seen a flag I've been more proud of than the Korean flag. How dare you talk about such a flag like that. The flag is not some toy that you can talk about with that mouth of yours. Be proud of it, you pathetic being.

5. [+1,784, -16] What's wrong with him...

6. [+313, -6] While Gangnam's trying so hard to bring public awareness to himself and MIB, his own member's doing just the opposite..

7. [+278, -3] Poor Gangnam for having to put up with this

8. [+263, -7] Gangnam should leave this group and promote on his own. He seems better fit for variety shows anyway. His member's clearly hopeless.

1. [+129, -3] Gangnam's working so hard for the group, just stay quiet. Even your fan told you that this would be controversial and asked you to take it down but you called her frustrating;;

2. [+114, -1] He doesn't even mean his apology. Look at this nugu so desperate for attention.

3. [+96, -2] Nugu bastard, you're not even worth my interest so just screw off

4. [+12, -1] Stupid bastard was talking about the law as if he knew any and now he comes out and apologizes? ㅋㅋ

5. [+10, -1] Why's he apologizing, I thought he was asking for this controversy

But seriously, why does the SK flag have the colours that it has? Are there any SK cultural meanings to the flags colours? Don't they teach something of that importance in school? I learn that in my country, along with the national anthem and other national symbols...

According to this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_South_Korea):
"The white background is a traditional Korean color. It represents peace and purity. The circle in the middle is derived from the philosophy of yin and yang and represents the balance of the universe. The blue section represents the negative cosmic forces, and the red section represents the opposing positive cosmic forces. The trigrams together represent the principle of movement and harmony. Each trigram (hangul: kwae) represents one of the four classical elements"

His country's flag is 100% Korean and he still has a problem with it? This fool deserves no pity...

he fucked up so bad with this. like honestly the flag issue is one thing but the way he treated fans was a whole other thing. he kept saying shit like calling fans 임마 and saying like 미쳤니? and even asked a fan if she thinks Hitler is a hero bc she told him not to deny the history of the flag. no wonder 5zic was so pissed off at him. Korean netizens are tearing him a new one too, it's pretty bad.

How stupid can he be? You only need a teeny bit of common sense to know you should've kept your mouth shut on this one? Like, other SNS controversies I can understand that the artist might have been angry or just, you know, not thought the extent to which his/her words might have consequences, but how the fuck do you think everything's gonna be ok when you touch this subject in South Korea? Damn, boy.

Poor other members of the group tbh.

That was my thought too, about his groupmates. I don't know anything about the group, so if they're generally problematic, whatever, but if the rest are just doing their best, this could really punish them too if netizens boycott M.I.B. Poor guys.

It's good to have a check in with a therapist even just one sit down. He should find one, twitter is not the place babe.
I still like you, cream. Keke.

I hope that apology is his and not written for him by someone else. Twitter's a dangerous place to be when you're that emotional. Wish the netizens could have some empathy for mistakes of the moment like this.

that whole twitter rant (not just the flag stuff, but the other things he said) was a really bad move on his part, i really don't think his mindset was in the right place at the time
