so i work with this automated machine for my experiments and today i did something incredibly dumb by putting my hand where pipette tips are coming down... now i have this nice wound all over my hand that looks like tiger scratched all over it. blood everywhere! :(

laurel always annoyed me, since the first episode. i guess she was okay when she had tommy, but... you know. i think she's getting better now, or maybe it's because i find roy even more annoying, which is sad because i liked him in teen wolf.
the only reason i'm still watching this is because of olicity. if they don't stay together in the end, lord help me.
trigger warning blood i almost lost the tip of my finger yesterday, i'm fine now :) turned out the cut was shallow and it didn't require stiching. i was cutting a 2,5kg block of couverture (chocolate with higher % of cocoa butter used in chocolatiery) with my best knife and the knife went straight into my left hand thumb. it's not the first time i cut myself doing this kind of stuff and i usually give myself first aid but this time i was afraid i could've damaged a muscle/nerve. it was deep and there was a lot of blood... it really hurt too. i had to leave my half-done chocolate painting (sort of, it was my first attempt and i used a mould) and rush to ER :( at least it turned out to be harmless.
shame that my painting was left alone for an hour and when i finished moulding, it turned out ugly :/ i gave it today to my mom and she was really happy tho she's happy with everything i do so i don't take her seriously :p
again, have a good week everyone! i need to sit on my ass and study but i hope everyone has more fun than i will have :p

So, you made this by pouring/painting things into a mold? I know the circumstances prevented you from giving it your best shot, but I think you've done more than most people do right here. And next time hopefully there will be no emergencies and it'll come out even better, right?

I use my old iphone as an ipod and when there is a game on the radio and I'm stuck at work I'll turn it on and listen to my own music. Needless to say there is a ton of K-music on it and it always get's me funny looks from customers followed by "What are you listening to?"
A few nights ago I was listening to B.A.P's warrior and a customer came in and looked at me and asked "Who's listening to B.a.p?" I'm in a small town in Indiana and it made my night that someone knew what I was listening to.
haha I also play kpop at work sometimes, i like to hook up my phone to the store stereo and sometimes 2ne1 comes up on shuffle. but no customers have commented on it yet. "come back home" came on one time and my coworker was like "this is a WEIRD SONG..." idk, it doesn't sound that different from what you'd hear on pop radio, i guess bc it's in korean that made it seem weirder to her...

I'm the same, though I am merely underemployed. My state has always had relatively low unemployment, but everyone in my family has had a terrible time finding work. People on the news are like "things are getting so much better!" And I'm like "where? For who?"
Funemployment is the best though. I miss sleeping as much as I want.

So I'm in a bit of a predicament. I currently have a full time job at an agency. It's a pretty cushy job because I'm very close to my manager, who's like a dad to me. We have a really good rapport and he's taken me under his wing and has introduced me to some really awesome people in the industry. That said, I also started freelancing as a sports reporter last year for a buddy of mine who runs the soccer/football division of a large sports news organization. And I love it. I got to meet some of my favorite athletes and interview them and hang out in the press boxes.
With the Women's World Cup coming up, he's asking me to consider possibly taking on a short term contract with them. It would be an awesome experience and would help me build my resume. The problem is, I've got a shit ton of student loans to pay off, and I don't want to walk away from a really good salary job to do something short-term where I'm not even sure if I'll be brought on full-time afterwards.
I know I could probably try to convince my boss to let me do remote work/take a sabbatical, but the Asian guilt is hitting me hard because he's taken such good care of me. I'm conflicted because as much as I would love to go and cover the WWC, I also know it's not a full-time job gig type thing, and I don't even know if it's something I would want to do long term... but there's also the possibility of working other big competitions.
I know I should be thankful that I have opportunities opened to me left and right, and if I could gift them to other people I would. My problem is I have so many interests and get bored so easily that I'm still struggling to find that ONE thing that I love and can see myself doing for the rest of my life.
Why not start with one thing you love and then branch off and do ALL the things you love? (Irresponsible answer but hey if Miley Cyrus can do it, so can we /hairflip)

what are you studying? my teacher and her husband are from the middle east and they lived in scotland (and ireland) for a bit and said it was great, but i think it would also depending on the specific city + what youre doing there

I'm always super awkward when I show people Kpop stuff. Like I had it on in my CD player in the car and my brother wanted to drive it one day.
