GOT7‘s Jackson is wearing a cast on his leg to prevent further injury after spraining his ankle while filming MBC’s “Idol Star Athletics Championships.”

A representative of JYP Entertainment explained to Star News, “After receiving a check-up at a hospital, he was told to wear a cast [on his leg]. The estimate is that he’ll have to wear it for around a week.”

On January 2, Jackson sprained his ankle while taking part in the track and field part of the show. After finishing the race, he felt pain in his ankle, and was soon transferred to a hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, EXO‘s Tao also injured his ankle during the shoot, and reportedly visited a hospital afterwards for proper examination. SM Entertainment and Tao have both reassured fans that he is in stable condition.

"My friend is a nurse at a hospital, she contacted me today to tell me that Tao went to the hospital, his foot is hurt (she knows I like him). I told her that he got hurt while playing basketball during IAC, I also asked her what happened. She said that it’s a torn ligament, he’s in a cast and he can’t walk so he’s using crutches. Last night it wasn’t as serious but in the middle of the night it was really painful so he got up to go to the hospital ;__; "

Taozi.... He's been hurt so many times in the past two years, this is fucking ridiculous. He shouldn't have been sent to this in the first place considering his waist injury.
I hope this wasn't the foot that got injured during laws of the jungle too

MBC or whoever would've banned them from performing or doing anything on the network apparently

wait really? why??

That explains why you never see anyone from YG at these things. They probably don't want to do it and/or YG doesn't want the artists getting hurt.

well that's shitty af of mbc

and is it just that group gets banned or the whole company gets banned if the idols don't attend? bc if it's just the group, then would other groups from a company be banned to if no representatives go from it?

so then are tvxq, snsd and suju banned as well? because i don't remember them going. or 2pm - i think it's been a few years since 2pm went.

and i agree with that too - that everyone should just protest and go against it together.

I remember reading something about older groups/members not having to go because of the risk of injury and it was "for the younger ones".

ah i see...
the younger idols are also at risk of getting injured - and they are getting injured, the show should just end tbh.

what is the phrase in english about the confidential information that doctors aren't supposed to share with anyone outside of the patient and their relatives?

ignore me, just being mean. i hope all of them recover soon.

Breach of privacy? In America it can constitute a HIPAA privacy violation but I'm not sure if that covers nurses or just doctors. if that's what you're asking. Although I'm pretty sure depending on the state a nurse could lose her license for disclosing private information.

thanks a lot! yes, "breach of privacy" is what i was looking for. i mean it's not like they disclosed anything really sensitive, but i found it uncool anyway.

HIPAA covers nurses as well.

Just for those who are curious: HIPPA covers ANYONE working in a medical setting, even a receptionist. (I used to work in a drs office.)

OK so that nurse shouldn't have said anything, way to be unprofessional- but seriously boycott the fucking idol olympics it's not worth it, and it's not that fun to watch, and outside of a few group interactions does anyone care?

it's honestly better for this show to just end. it's not fun for the idols to participate anymore and except for the die-hards, no one else cares. more and more kids are getting hurt and it's just not okay anymore /:

This show is a menace. It's just a power trip for the network, and it never ends well for the idols. I'm glad YG hasn't given in to the pressure/threat of banning. I don't understand why SM doesn't do it, too. I mean, I'm happy to look at their idols in the event and fancams, but the injuries aren't worth it.

Yeah, surely if MBC threatens to ban an SM group's future appearances on the network if they don't attend, SM can just threaten to withhold all their artists in retaliation?

MBC's music programs can't afford to lose all those SM artists/groups, and there are at least three other weekly music programs to go on.

Exactly.

I think SM puts up with it anyway because they have a lot of idols, and they do a lot of variety and dramas, so maybe they think they can't alienate a network... or won't/not willing to. Plus they overwork them anyway and IAC isn't any different.

Unless it's for one of their favored ones, SM exerts its power and influence only to get their idols jobs and to cockblock those who dare break way from them, sadly.
