9 MUSES Moon Hyuna's Letter + 9/17 Performance at DRAMA Showcase

The letter's translation:

Hello everyone. Are you surprised?

This is something even the members didn’t know about, a surprise that the staff members and I, Hyuna, prepared.

From time to time, I’ve wanted to write a letter to the members and to MINEs,

And now that I have this chance, I’ll say a few words.

This is the start of Nine Muses, returning anew with 8 members.

Everyone who’s sitting in this hall now, you all know that Nine Muses has undergone lots of changes in these 5 years, right..

All of a sudden, we found ourselves with lots of work to handle; honestly, we started thinking that we’re really not young anymore.

Everything that we endured and experienced is a part of us.

Although 2014 was a difficult year for Nine Muses

It hasn’t been easy for the MINEs watching over us in this past year either.

Since Lee Sem and Eunji’s graduation in January, closely followed by Sera’s departure during the summer..

Please forgive us; we who haven’t been able to do anything but give you this news. ^^;

When I read comments that say “It’s difficult to be a Nine Muses fan”, I feel so guilty that I find myself unable to say anything at all.

Now that the former members have graduated and moved on to better things, we still continue to support each other.

Actually, Eunji-ssi is here with us right now.

Even now, we’re still in contact with each other and maintaining a good relationship.

The former members, too, feel sincerely sorry towards every one of you.

It’s my honour to convey their feelings to you all through this letter.

But now, I hope that we can all give our wholehearted support to Lee Sem, Eunji, and Sera in their current happiness.

These ladies who gave their all to Nine Muses have passed the baton on to us

For their sake, too, we’ll work even harder to make Nine Muses a group that you can be proud of.

These people with me right now, who will forever be my maknae dongsaengs - Minha and Hyemi

When Moya, who’s practically like my family, fell sick, I didn’t expect to receive a message from Minha. “Unnie, are you okay?” I cried really hard because of that.

After receiving these thoughtful words from Minha, I could feel the depth of her sincerity. Thank you, Minha-yah.

Hyemi is always by my side, using her aegyo to warm the heart of this sensitive unnie; I truly rely on her a lot.

Please continue just like you do now, always bringing smiles to your unnies.

As for our Kyungri - though we previously joked about riding on her back and having her carry our weight

I haven’t been able to help lighten the burdens you shoulder..

I can only be sorry. I’ll support and encourage Kyungri in every way !!

Sungah returned as a new member during Dolls

I don’t know if you remember; in the beginning you said “Unnie, if I can do better in the middle, it’ll give unnie strength too”

Until now, you’ve proved and shown it in your own performance and I’m grateful for that

You’re the one I always nag, but you quietly accept it all, and I thank you again; wooden bowl1 hwaiting!

Though our Erin is always radiating positive energy and shining upon those around her

With the depths of her heart, she suddenly became someone that I, as an unnie, shared my frustrations with; someone who made me cry and laugh

I think I’ll continue to rely on Erin in the future too.. ㅋㅋ

These are the words of gratitude I wanted to say to our members who will bring Nine Muses onwards into 2015

And, the ones who keep pace with us; who have to read the feelings of others2 and work hard all the way until dawn - Sojin and Keumjo who have joined us.

Having conveyed this feeling of kinship to our new family members, Nine Muses returns as a complete group again.

Beginning now is the beginning of Nine Muses’ Drama.

To make sure that this scenario has a good ending, Nine Muses as an entire team and the staff will show all our passion.

Because MINEs are with us, we gain comfort and strength.

1) Sungah’s parents own a restaurant that sells deung galbi, and it is called 함지박 치즈등갈비, i.e. “Wooden Bowl Cheese Deung Galbi”

2) An expression usually used to describe someone who is in a more junior/subordinate role and has to jump to the tune of his/her senior/superior.

3) Hyuna laughs at Hyemi for crying because Hyemi is the least likely in the group to cry over emotional things. In a backstage clip from 150129 M!Countdown, Hyuna literally said "Hyemi-ssi’s the type who won’t cry even if we get #1, she seems to have a heart made of steel."
