A video of a soccer match between South Korea and Uzbekistan U-22 category has gone viral due to its violent nature.

French publication Le Parisien published a report detailing the event stating, “In a match during The King’s Cup, an instance took place where the fact that ‘soccer is played with one’s feet’ seemed to have been forgotten.” During a match between the under-22 national teams, a player from Uzbekistan retaliated to a tackle with three punch to a Korean player, while another imitated a “kung-fu kick” against another player. The incident further dubbed the Uzbekistan team to be the most violent team in the world.

British online tabloid Mirror Online, on the other hand, posted a video of the incident and revealed that, “The Uzbekistan national team proved that they are the most violent soccer team in the world.”

In a statement, a representative from the Uzbekistan team apologized saying, “We would like to first say that there is no conflict with the Korea Football Association. We talked on the phone with Korea Football Association with regards to the unethical and shocking incident that took place and we have reprimanded the national team and the coaching staff. There will be repercussions and we will do what is necessary to keep the relationship between us and Korea Football Association amiable.”

Haven't watch the video, going to wait for comments to tell me how graphic it is (I can't handle violence), but I have a feeling SK took a beating.

It's just a clip of the opposing team's member falling to the ground in the shuffle to get the ball, then he gets up swinging and wallops the SK player who tripped over him in the head. He maybe whomped him 3 or 4 times before the dude's teammates pulled him away.

What the Korean player did was barely even a foul, just a collision, the Uzbekistani player deserves a red card, a fine and a suspension. I mean he threw several punches in a fit of rage. It's as absurd as Suarez biting people mid-game.

fouls are the very last resort
you make fouls when you are desperate and feel intimidated by other team/player
they're basically acknowledging SK is better

Did he get lost on his way to the boxing ring?
I'll never get football, rugby is the way to go

Isn't rugby a lot more violent than football?

It's more "physical" but the mentality is a lot better and there's no "gratuitous violence"
“Football is a gentleman’s game played by ruffians, and rugby is a ruffian’s game played by gentlemen.”

Ohhh, okay. I remember playing rugby in gym class in high school and some poor girl got kicked in the face and broke her nose in two different spots.

nah, there's way more regulations against physical contact. it's just that you're not wearing padding while tackling but there are things like you're not allowed to tackle above the shoulder, wrap your arms around someone, tackle them without your arms, etc.

That's what I thought until I give it a try.

It is a truly beautiful game. I love how I can know their positions just looking at their jersey #. :D

This is why my father enjoys watching female soccer than male soccer.

Me too. I remember reading an article where someone actually got statistics for game comparisons, and female players were way less likely to fake an injury and all that crap. Just play the game, guys!

That... wow. That's just AWFUL. The guy SLAPS him.

I'm female so the situation is a bit different but I've played volleyball, basketball, and flag football in fairly physical positions in highschool and I've competed in Taekwondo (ITF, "light contact" but lbr that's a lie) tournaments up to the world championships and I've never seen ANYTHING like that. I would be so ashamed to be his teammate.

Wait, so that's not even the same person??

They should've been playing with 9 players on the pitch after both these incidents tbh
