Actors Jung and Park launch fashion lines

Two Korean Wave stars, Jung Woo-sung and Park Eun-hye, have launched their own fashion line, according their agency on Wednesday.

Jung and Park launched "Behind" and "Guggen", respectively, which are being sold at Shinsegae's E-mart stores since late August, Forestar Entertainment stated in a press release.

E-mart is one of the biggest retailers in Korea and has a nationwide distribution of over 160 stores.

"This is different from other cases where the celebrity merely lends his or her name to the brand", explained an E-mart executive. "These two [Jung and Park] were directly involved and participated in designing the products."

The press release also said some of the items designed and recommended by the two stars will appear in their future TV dramas or films through product placement (PPL). The garments will be managed separately under the "Star Tag" label at offline stores.



The price of "Guggen" and "Behind" clothes is reported to be about one fourth to one fifth of department store brands.

Actress Park Eun-hye rose to fame with a supporting role in hit MBC TV series "Jewel in the Palace", which starred Hallyu star Lee Young-ae.

Actor Jung Woo-sung has starred in numerous famed Korean films, including "Beat" and "The Good, The Bad, The Weird".

His most recent work, "Season of Good Rain" directed by a South Korean filmmaker and co-produced by Korea and China, will also star Chinese actress Gao Yuanyuan and opens in theatres on October 8 in Korea.
