Claragate 2k15: Industry representative claims Clara Lee lied about her age, “Actually an 85-liner”

An industry representative stated that Clara Lee actually lied about her age in her professional profile.

In a report by Sports Today on January 28th, multiple industry representatives stepped forward to confirm this assertion stating, “Clara’s real birthday is January 15th, 1985 although her professional profile states that she is a year younger, born in January of 1986.”

Ever since her debut and throughout her active career, Clara has been promoted as an 86-liner, born in 1986. Currently, her official profile online states that she has just turned 30 years old (international age). However, with these claims, her real age is supposedly 31.

Ironically, in an interview during promotions for her latest movie Working Girl, many statements were made saying “I can’t believe she’s only 30 years of age” and were highly televised and promoted following the interview.

Meanwhile, aside from these allegations, Clara is currently under heavy public scrutiny following her lawsuit toward her most recent company Polaris Entertainment accusing the CEO of sexual harassment and filing for contract nullification. However, Dispatch and YTN released multiple Kakao talk and text messages (1, 2, 3)between the two which appeared to favor the entertainment company to which Clara promptly responded, asking for the public to believe in her. Following the last report, Clara’s representation revealed that she could not provide any more evidence since her phone had fallen into the water.

The the actress-model-singer is currently entangled in lawsuits and contract disputes between CF companies and her sponsorships and is being reviewed by CEMA for her double contract violation that occurred earlier last year.

ALSO I couldn't add this because the only source I could find was AKP (http://www.allkpop.com/article/2015/01/the-korean-entertainment-management-association-to-halt-claras-activities-as-an-entertainer-in-korea) but the Korean Entertainment Management Association is officially deciding on whether to officially blacklist Clara or not!

"The Korean Entertainment Management Association released their official statement regarding the current controversy with actress Clara, who has become embroiled in a complicated lawsuit with Polaris Entertainment.

The shortened version of the official statement on January 28 says:

'Korean Entertainment Management Association's special organization, the Rewards and Punishment Mediation Ethics Committee, has adopted the important matter in relation to Clara, actress of popular culture and arts, that has recently broken out and express its ethical stance in order to help the wholesome development of the Korean entertainment business.

While the results of the investigation have not been released yet, Clara, as an involved party of the dispute that has arisen from a problem involving her contract with the agency and is becoming a controversy, can been seen as an even more severe problem as the situation is receiving a lot of public criticism from society and the sensitive topic of sexual humiliation is especially becoming a public controversy; therefore, the aftermath could have an impact on even the public.

As a Korean star and an involved party of the incident that has become a problem, Clara should have garnered the understanding from the public for her activities as a celebrity, respected that, and as a public figure, should have sincerely taken responsibility and behaved with self-discipline, but she has not sufficiently led with that, so we believe we she must refrain herself from continuing her activities as an entertainer in this kind of circumstance.'

The association has revealed that Clara had been issued a warning before regarding her former contract issues she had even before signing with Polaris. However because of her new issues, they are looking into seeing what kind of disciplinary matter they will take against the actress if she continues to promote publicly without properly settling the matters or reflecting. Therefore, it seems they have not actually put a ban preventing her from being active, but are urging her to settle matters with her contract issues before she continues her activities as a celebrity to prevent further consequences."

I'm sad now that netizens have decided to hate her and dig on everything. Also, her claim being real or not, she's pretty much done for now, between the mistakes made by people on her side (the phone in the water? seriously? what kind of a lawyer/public relations counsellor would agree to release such a statement), the media play from Polaris with Ladies Code and the fact that she wasn't much liked to begin with. I feel so sorry, it's a mess.

It may seem odd but I doubt it was entirely her idea. It's weird that people are acting like it's not common for older females to be ridiculed for their age and that companies don't suggest they shave a few years off. It happens more so with women than it does men.

Well, she originally debuted as an actress back in 2005 and that's probably when the lie started. Claiming you're 15 when you're 20 is a bit less believable and might impact the type of jobs they would cast her in.
