SMA apologizes to Taeyeon personally for their Crappy Stage

"We sincerely apologize for Taeyeon′s accident.

On January 22 at the 24th Seoul Music Awards, held at the Olympic Park Gymnastics Stadium, Taeyeon, member of SNSD′s unit group Taetiseo, was hit with an unexpected accident while leaving the stage. Regarding this, we deeply apologize to Taeyeon, her members, her agency, and fans.

The accident occured after Taeyeon and her members performed Holler upon receiving a bonsang. As they were exiting the stage, the lift, installed on the stage floor, suddenly fell. The signals of the production stage team didn′t match, and the lift dropped about one meter from the 1.8-meter high stage, causing Taeyeon to stumble and fall into the space. Seeing this, Taetiseo members, Tiffany and Seohyun, as well as the backdancers, pulled Taeyeon back up onto the stage. The stage production team explained, ′The event was getting delayed, so in the process of hurrying things up, a mistake happened.′

Following the accident, Taeyeon came down from the stage with the help of the members and was sent to the hospital to get examined. After a close examination, she was told, ′There aren′t major injuries, but her muscles around her waist are a bit startled.′

On January 23, a high ranking Seoul Music Awards organization committee member contacted Taeyeon′s agency, SM Entertainment′s rep once again and deeply apologized to Taeyeon and the members, and promised to cooperate with follow-up actions that need to be taken.

SM Entertaiment replied, ′Taeyeon′s injuries are not that severe, but thank you for your concern.′

The organization committee of the Seoul Music Awards worked hard regarding safety with much safety education and several rehearsals. But as an unexpected accident happened, we want to sincerely apologize once again to Taeyeon, her members, her agency, and fans for causing worry.

We sincerely hope that Taeyeon will quickly recover and return to normal activities with her fans."

They say she fell only a meter...that's roughly 3 feet right? That's really not that far of a drop. I've fallen out of trees and off a roof without having to go to the hospital. It sucks that it happened and I'm glad she's alright, but I feel like carrying her out on a stretcher is a bit of overkill.

Almost two meter and in killer heels. I don't know if you've seen other angles of the incident, but she tried to hold on to the ledge as she fell so that's why she hurt her stomach.

Seohyun trips, then kinda speeds up (which is what I'd do if I tripped) to kinda not fall and I can't help but keep thinking that Seohyun may have also accidentally pushed Taeyeon a bit in her haste to not fall, which inadvertently caused Taeyeon to stumble/trip over the open hole. It was my initial thought since Taeyeon also looked like it was a hop into the hole.

It's all really hard to tell, though, but that's what it looks to me. In no way is it Seohyun's fault, SMA should definitely have checked those lifts -___-

I haven't seen other angles, but from the video it looked like she was still visible above the stage (they said the platform only dropped a meter, not the full 1.8/almost 2) so that's why I couldn't understand how she could possibly be that injured. Makes a bit more sense if she tried to grab the stage, but yeah.

Try falling from anywhere and land in heels. I dont even think one can land on heels, we'd just hurt our legs or hips on impact. You sound like youre so skeptical of Taeyeon's injuries...

When I fell down off a zip line as a kid, a good 3-4 meters high (staff mistake, go figure), I didn't break anything, but I sure was glad people carried me away because my legs hurt like mother, I could barely walk.

And I know someone who also fell out of a tree, it was only 2 meters but he fell on his head and died. It depends on where you fall and how you fall. Moreover every story is different. Hopefully she was OK but it could have been worse.

lol so that's what SMA said what SM said. SM only gave a more detailed account of Taeyeon's accident and let fans know the extent of her injuries.

SM could've said that and SMA could've reworded it differently but who knows haha nowadays, it's getting harder to figure out what people say.
