Plot:
Can 20-something rookie broadcast reporters make their mark covering the bustling news of a busy metropolitan city? The idealistic Choi In Ha (Park Shin Hye) has her work cut out for her when she becomes a broadcast journalist, especially when she suffers from a condition known as “Pinocchio syndrome,” which makes her break out into hiccups whenever she tells a lie.

Her rookie colleagues include Choi Dal Po (Lee Jong Suk), whose shabby appearance masks his true eloquence and sharp memory; Seo Bum Jo (Kim Young Kwang), a wealthy heir who has had everything handed to him in life; and Yoon Yu Rae (Lee Yu Bi), whose fangirl knowledge comes in handy in covering the news. Omg, I'm so sorry I haven't updated. The holidays, work, and being sick were too much. I just marathoned all of these. So, after weeks of us saying that Bum Jo's mom is a useless character she ends up being one of the criminal masterminds! LOL. I'll miss Chan Soo spraying his plants, In ha weilding her shoes as weapons, and Yu Rae's drunken outbursts. I really enjoyed this drama and making these posts. I always look forward to what you guys have to say. *shoots hearts* <3

I'm so sad because this started off so strong but dragged so much once hyung was in jail, and it didn't pick up again until like ep 16. And I love hyung but those scenes with Dal Po visiting him were so unnecessary and just felt like a waste of time. In Ha was a really strong character tho so I'm glad PSH took this role.

Jin Kyung was absolutely amazing throughout, the scene where she finally broke down gave me chills.

I think my favorite ending was with the camerawoman and Nosy Jang tbh. Also with Yoo Rae and the headband lol

Oh also I really wish they had shown Yoo Rae's process of helping clear Lee Joon's name tbh. I feel like she was underused throughout and when there was an opportunity for her to shine they ended up glossing over it

I also felt like they were both criminally underused. The ending also seemed rushed but it was still sweet. I felt like it could've used a few more episodes. Jin Kyung's breakdown was amazing! One of my favorite scenes. I became a huge fan of her after this drama. I also really loved Nosy Jang and Cap Hwang's characters.

Aside from PSH, this cast was pretty good. I guess I can see why she was type-cast but her character remained boring the entire way through. I'm kind of tired of the whole ~innocent girl who is the victim of everything~ trope, and even when it's not about her she finds a way to make it about her. I guess that's why I liked Birth of a Beauty.

Nosy Yoon killed me, but justice for Yurae and Cap though >:( The ending was pretty good, I feel satisfied after watching it.

the ending was solid. over all this was a cute/fun drama but nothing too special. it lagged here and their, random idol cameos? under use of kim young kwang and lee yu bi. PSH was decent and LJS was cute but they weren't incredible. Stars that shone were Jin Kyung & Gramps who were solid through and through. The supporting cast was better than the main cast which was ironic.

Shoutout to his cute older brother. I wanted a decent ending for him, given the circumstances it would be nice if he got let off in like 7-10 years and reunited with Inha & Dal Po with their kid & family. I would have preferred that ending instead of ending with a wedding fitting.

Zion T's song was heard like once, a criminal offense. K Will's song was flawless as well. The OST was sooooo good and that elevated the drama so much.

I really thought they were going to throw her and Bum Jo together and I was not here for that. But her and Cap are so cute. I agree that it's too much sometimes. It was nice that they alluded to him liking her back a little.

ep 19 had me like hnnnng and i loved how ep 20 gave me a lot of closure. don't know whether to love or hate that inhas mothers turned out to be somewhat good? lol overall a very good drama!

Yeah, I loved evil mom but her breakdown and turnaround was well done. Very believable. I would've never guessed Bum Jo's mom was behind everything when I started watching. It was cool to see her stripped of make up and looking absolutely wrecked in the prison visitor's room.

I just managed to bring myself to finish all 3 episodes today. I love the fact that they didn't overdo the plot, I feel like everything is explained sufficiently without being too rushed. Except for not granting Cap Hwang and Yoon Yoorae as an item in the end, this drama is <3
