PLOT
Hee Tae (Uhm Tae Woong) met his future wife, Il Ri (Lee Si Young), when he worked as a temporary biology teacher at an all girls high school. Il Ri was a student there. Now, Hee Tae works as a fishery researcher and spends his days in a typical marriage. One day, he learns that his wife is having an affair with a carpenter (Lee Soo Hyuk).

this drama just FLINGS shit on the ceiling, doesnt it? also kim joon's aegyo is so turnt in these episodes i want to punch him in the face. TY tvN for making up for how dirty ya'll did soo hyuk in KOHS because kim joon is a great character. also i am DYING for more of hee soo's backstory because it's BY FAR the most interesting subplot. this drama is an emotional investment, fo real. everytime i think i have something figured out they change the story. i went from seriously disliking hee tae to actually feeling PITY for him. trust---in the first 10 episode i did NOT think i'd EVER see myself caring for him. il ri slowly letting go is so beautiful and painful at the same time. not sure if joon is where she should be resting her head but i'm all for her finding happiness.

Honestly this show is so emotional, I cry or almost cry like every episode.

I feel like Hee Tae's mums illness is going to end dragging Il Ril right back into their household mess.

i'm hoping that's not the case with the mom. but instead hee tae will step up to handle everything (and i guess if il ri sees he's changed will give their relationship a second chance but i hope not!)

It's funny, I'm watching Pinocchio, Kill me, Heal me, Heart to Heart and Valid Love but it's VL I find myself thinking about all week.
It's so funny I started this show for the eyecandy and stumbled on one of the sleeper better dramas of the year

This drama is so slept on and it's incredible. It keeps getting wilder and wilder and I love it so much. I need more on Hee Soo's backstory and I'm praying more than anything Il Ri won't be dragged back into that horrible family because of the mother's illness. She deserves so much more, Kim Joon was so beyond adorable and I'm really rooting to learn more about him. The secret of his birth especially, will we ever know his parents and why the left him.

I hope we never find out about his parents. In kdramas birth secrets = makjak = crazy = foolishness = BAD DRAMA (unless it's Flames of Desire level MAKJAK).

I think his parents aren't crucial (unless it help's him be less weird~) to the show.

I think there might be some more grandpa stories. I love the grandpa stories, they're always super bittersweet. They've been a pretty good medium for explaining his weirdness (i.e. why he won't learn multiplication).

-not here for HT's change of heart
-I will rage if she goes back because of sick MIL
-STOP with the sibling ship
-It's time to tell us what's what with HS illness
-Writer is doing a good job at fixing Joon's weirdness and Il-ri's EVERYTHING
-I feel bad for HT's side-chick, but not really. Please runaway with him
-I cackled when IR's friend wouldn't pass along the cell. More people need to start putting their foot down to HT's whims, yes he's hurt, but wtf should everyone care


I really don't know how I feel anymore. I love this show, I'm 100% ride or die, but if she doesn't file that divorce paper by the end of next week I will kick something.

HT's 'change of heart' seemed more like he just wanted to have the easy life of having someone look after his house + family than any real affection for Il Ril.
So every time he keeps hanging around, it gets me angry, stop trying to play that your such a victim is who is now kind enough to let her back.

When he started "opening his eyes" I went into NOPE mode.

Bitch can't be having more dramatic tantrums than a 3 year-old who lost their favorite teddy bear and then expect anyone to take them seriously.

You need some random creeper to tell you your wife is madly in love with you when she's been screaming I LOVE YOU for weeks. You need multiple members of your family to me practically terminally ill before you can notice she does EVERYTHING in both households. You need a young, hot, and passionate (read: borderline crazy with mood swings between obsessed and no-fucks-given) to tell you to give him your wife before you realize you are giving up your marriage. And then finally, eureka, hmmmt maybe we should try "communicating" aka you do what I say (which now is stay home instead of get the fuck out).

I've seen enough faux-cest dramas to have a reasonable tolerance for Asia's love of sibling-love~ but this ship has me wanting to write some STRONGLY worded letters.

I wish dramas would stop glorifying jerks, but at least the jerks are usually loaded and hot. This guy has NOTHING. It actually amazes me how he can even exist. Even when Kdrama characters are unemployed they still find a side-job pealing walnuts or something. Has family isn't even rich enough for him to go around poppin' bottles. He's not cute, not even in a "..eh, why not?" type of way.

This ship is a blatant insult to females. The writer is literally saying "look, no matter how crap he is...at least he has a dick."

anyways im obsessed with this drama but the last 2 eps have been slow for me? or maybe im just being greedy. something needs to progress between ilri and joon, i will rage if this drama ends in ilri being guilt tripped back into heetaes family.

i just finished watching ep 14 and hmmm i really dont like HT and J and i dont really want IR to end up with both of them. i just want her to figure herself out because shes always been living for other people: her husband, her sister (paying for her college and not going herself), her in laws. ive been wanting HT to say the right thing everytime he opened his mouth these past two episodes and to acknowledge IR and all shes done and how she basically had no one to talk to and that their distance was both their faults, him for not asking and checking in on her feelings snd her for not reaching out when things got too much. not for them to get back together but so they could both just move on already. im really put off by J idg why people ship him with ir like he seems weird and selfish and childish yeah he gets her sometimes but then what? like is there really a future there. IR said herself that her husband was all she knew and i feel jumping into the first relationship after him wont help she needs to really know what she wants. this is so long but about the family i wouldn't really use evil to describe them but just a really dysfunctional family and the relationship between IR and MIL shows that we hurt the ones we love and are messed up but that but that we really care for each other in the end. IR herself and the misplaced guilt she feels towards HS kinda plays a part in her tiring relationship with her in laws on one hand the husband was willing to send HS away so IR wasnt burdened but she insisted on keeping her because sending her away itself would also be a hard choice and a burden too but at the same time it isn't just the family who is forcing IR but herself who wants to do it. idk what to say about the sibling relationship im here for them just being friends. i love the actor who plays the brother ive seen his other work and i just love how he portrays his character here and elsewhere so i cant hate him no matter how much i try because im facinated everytime he comes on screen. ahhhh sorry i probably dont make any sense and im not good with words so i probably did a horrible job in conveying my feelings + its almost 4am.

Hmm, I mean...Joon is weird but like...he's a victim of a pretty solid case of statutory rape...at 17 to have intercourse with someone 10 years older than you...when all you pretty much know is carpentry and your time with your grandpa? Dude is lacking socially and through Il Ri and those around her he's learning step by step so I don't mind his character one bit. I want him to find his place and be happy as much as I want Il Ri to, together or not.

Anyway, really don't want Il Ri to get roped back into this family or feel like she is at fault for yet another person's illness...I'd love for her to just file some divorce papers herself, but I guess that takes time.

Hee Tae is sort of starting to come outside himself for a minute but I'm still not convinced he understands the problem. I could always understand being upset and angry (not throwing a tantrum like a child and smacking your wife so hard she falls to the ground though) but I dunno, I really don't think he's there yet. Even Joon is making faster progress than he is...
