Apink’s Eunji is the first virtual girlfriend for jTBC’s “Alone in Love”

Apink’s Eunji recently finished recording for JTBC‘s newest variety program Alone in Love where the woman is recorded carrying out missions that will persuade the men who watch the program that they are dating. It is delving into the psychology of women, how they approach dating, and how they act when dating.

Eunji talked about the unique experience saying, “It wasn’t simple since I wasn’t acting toward an actor standing before me, but only the cast and the audience member behind the camera. It was unfamiliar but wonderful experience and I tried my best create a realistic image of a ‘lover’.”

During filming, Eunji filmed many separate situations alone for the camera to create a loving girlfriend image. Eunji, who has a great deal of acting experience including hit dramas Reply 1997, That Winter, the Wind Blows, and Trot Lovers, satisfied the production team with her acting skills.

The MCs and audience members also gave rave reviews for the popular idol saying, “I’m so glad I came on this program.”

Alone in Love, hosted by Kim Min Jong, Jun Hyung Moo, Sung Si Kyung, Jang Dong Min and Cross Gene‘s Shin, will begin airing later this month on JTBC following the completion of shooting for the first episode.

Meanwhile, Eunji and the rest of Apink are gearing up for their first solo concert Pink Paradise following their massive success with their winter hit “Luv” and have released individual concert posters!

The entire point of the show is to fill men's desires in order to be in a relationship. Basically the women here are just an instrument to be used in orden to make men happy. That's fucked up.

Exactly. Variety shows in general revolve around idols carrying out a certain image, but when folks start acting like that is actually how people are... no. In this case it especially bugs me - women are usually approached very trope-y (real life is no exception) and we should not be writing it off like the real thing.

And, well, to have ANOTHER tv show about women catering to want men want, no thank you.

This has awkward written all over it.
The description of the show makes me cringe and uncomfortable.
I feel bad for Eunji.
What are the activities? Her going on dates and random mission with a audience member and then her going on a "date" with the camera man who is filming in the "you" point of view?

SO cringeworthy. The show is basically using Eunji's popularity to hold the ratings. "Do you want to know how it feels to be the boyfriend of Eunji? Watch this program and find out!"

Oh thank God it wasn't Eunji who said "I'm so glad I came on this program" - when I saw the heading of the cut, I thought it was her.

My immediate reaction to this is wtf, and that it's super gross.
