I'm not suprised as blackmail is considered serious crime almost everywhere and will get you jail time. Also it's very unfortunate, but in most countries punishments from raping etc. are fairly small compared to punishments from many other crimes. In my country there are bunch of cases where rapists have only had to pay fines (if you ever visit Finland evade at all costs situations in which you might be raped, 'cause our country is the rapists'paradise what comes to justice system).

I'm just a little bit curious as to where everyone is getting the sexual harassment angle in this. What I got from the way it was explained is that they very much so were involved in this to get the black mail material. Sexual Harassment assumes that they did not want nor invite this behavior but from what I saw it doesn't appear that is the case.

If it is the case that they were harassed and recorded it because of that could I get some links? I don't mean to be rude or anything I'm just curious if that's true.

On the other side of things, it's SO incredibly wrong to me, that this crime was punished more viciously than any public rape scandal we've heard of recently. It's really bonkers to me that money still goes SO far in Korea, but I suppose that the US is truly not much better so I can't say too much really.

The deserved punishment, I stand firm in the belief that if you commit a crime you should be punished for it, and this was a crime they deserved something. This is less time than I expected though so at least there's that.

Well, this is alright. I don't think a year is too light for blackmail, but I do think crimes like rape aren't given heavy enough sentences. That said, I can see why people would be outraged in light of other people making off scot-free for their blackmail attempts. Esp. when Lee Santa isn't well-liked (deservedly so). That said, I don't think the law should punish him for cheating on his wife, even if they have the legal authority to do so. I believe those actions are between the individuals involved and that it's not right for the law to intervene in how someone chooses to act within their bedrooms/relationships.

I agree with everything you said. Cheating is a personal thing, not a criminal act.

I also want to find out more about why everyone hates this guy so much. Is it just ("just") because he cheated on his well-liked wife and seems pretty sleazy? In Hollywood, that's a common occurrence. Heck, in just regular life cheating is way more common that you think.

I'm not defending this guy, AT ALL, and I think sexual crimes like rape and harassment need harsher penalties, but I just want to know why everyone hates him so much.
