Park Se Young Says Kangin Reached Out and Made Filming ′Cat Funeral′ Comfortable
Park Se Young shared how it was to work with Super Junior′s Kangin for the movie Cat Funeral.
On January 6, the press screening for the movie Cat Funeral took place at the CGV Theaters in Wangsimni, where Park Se Young shared, "I met Kangin for the first time during the script reading, and since it was my first film project, I worried a lot that I would be kind of awkward."
"I′m also very shy, so I worried about how to get close with him. Especially since we were acting as a long-term couple who were on and off, becoming close was a must," explained Park Se Young. "But fortunately, Kangin opened up his heart and approached me first."
"He made it so I could only smile while on set," said Park Se Young. "At first when we only met once or twice, it was awkward and we didn′t exchange a lot of words, but that atmosphere quickly broke. When it was time to eat in between filming, he always took care of me, asking to eat together. After talking about this and that, I think we got close quickly."
Cat Funeral is a film, based on the popular webtoon series of the same name, about a couple that fall in love at first sight, sharing beautiful moments as well as an inevitable break up together. The film captures the couple′s special reunion in the course of a day. The title Cat Funeral refers to the funeral of their cat, Gooreum, as well as the last day and chance to make a confession as the couple revives their old memories together.
The movie premieres on January 15.

Super Junior’s Kangin shared his thoughts on dating and marriage.
Having taken his first lead role on the big screen through Cat Funeral, Super Junior’s Kangin held an interview with Newsen on January 8 at a café in Hannam-dong.
When commented that apart from being an idol, he must be thinking more seriously about dating and marriage since he has entered his 30s, Kangin waved it off as he said, “No, not at all.”
Kangin said, “I still have many things that I have to do. There are also many things that I would like to do. I would like to travel around and work more. I also think that I should meet many different types of people, not in terms of dating, but as human to human. I haven’t been thinking about dating and especially about marriage.”
He then shared, “And I’m not lying. I’ve already missed my chance of marriage. I wanted to get married when I was 20 years old, as soon as I graduated from high school. Personally, I really like babies. So I thought about marriage just to have my own baby. But that chance of marriage has passed. People say that once you miss your chance to get married, it’s hard to come across that time again. That’s what I think.”
He added, “I haven’t loved myself enough yet. I can′t be responsible for someone else when I cannot love myself. I will think about it again when I can love and be responsible for myself. Sung Min was the first member to get married. We approached it very carefully and I’m careful to even bring it up, but as his fellow members and friends, we supported him.”
Cat Funeral is a project based on the popular webtoon series of the same name. It is about a couple, who falls in love at first sight but ends up breaking up, spending a day together after reuniting. In the film, Kangin acted as the musician named Dong Hoon who is naïve at expressing his feelings. The movie will premiere on January 15.

Super Junior’s Kangin Says His Break-Ups Were Not as Beautiful as in ‘Cat Funeral’
Super Junior’s Kangin shared that he tried to incorporate his dating experiences into acting.
Having taken his first lead role in a movie through Cat Funeral, Kangin attended an interview with Newsen on January 8 at a café in Hannam-dong. He sank his head in embarrassment and was not able to speak up easily upon getting asked how his friends and acquaintances responded to his movie.
Based on the popular webtoon series with the same title, Cat Funeral is about the special reunion of a couple, who fall in love with each other at first sight, but goes through a break up. In the film, Kangin acts as a musician named ‘Dong Hoon,’ who deeply thinks about love, but is so poor at expressing his feelings.
Kangin said, “To be honest, it wasn’t easy to present my acting when I felt awkward watching it myself. The reactions of the movie were split seven to three. The guys were three, while the girls were seven. Girls seemed to relate to it more. My female dongsengs and sunbaenims texted me, ‘I could really relate to it,’ and some of them even cried. But guys told me, ‘No, it’s not like that,’ as they tried to argue against it,” coughing a round of laughter.
He continued, “But I could relate to it. From the moment I received the scenario, I sincerely wanted to do it, and that’s what I told the company. It was a choice that was totally reflected by will." He explained, “Apart from thinking, ‘I should act well,’ I took a step towards the character itself with an innocent heart. The scenario included some of the things that I experienced as well. I think that’s why I wanted to do it more.”
“As you know my age, I’ve experienced both love and break ups,” confessed Kangin. “I tried to use my experiences and thought, ‘Should I add this here when I act? How would that turn out?’” He added, “To be honest, I don’t remember my break-ups as beautiful memories.”
He continued, “Although the movie doesn’t exactly show how they part in the last scene, they sincerely wish for each other’s happiness as they part. But I couldn’t be like that. It made me wonder how many couples in the world could actually do that, and it also made me regret. I wanted to do it at least once through the movie,”
And if I get the opportunity, I would like to go visit every one of them and apologize. I want to be apologized to for the things I deserve and apologize to them for the things they deserve. It’s not that I have any feelings left for them, but I go feel regretful.”
Cat Funeral about a couple who reunites at their cat Goo Reum’s funeral and gets the last opportunity to confess their feelings, will premiere on January 15.
I thought his interviews were cute/sad/matured like i always do with all kangin interviews. Also Yay for Park Se Young + Kangin for the release of Cat Funeral!! o.o that did take a while
