H.O.T’s Lee Jae Won Revealed to Have Been Diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer, Group Reunion Postponed

According to an exclusive report by Kuki News, H.O.T member Lee Jae Won has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer.

On January 10, Lee Jae Won’s reps delivered the unexpected news: “Lee Jae Won is currently battling thyroid cancer.” However, they further explained, “Fortunately, [the cancer] was discovered in the early stages, so there are no major problems and he is focusing on receiving treatment now.”

It is said that the H.O.T member recently felt that something was wrong with his body, and visited a hospital, where he received the diagnosis for thyroid cancer.

The reps also shared, “There were plans for a H.O.T reunion recently. [The group] was planning to showcase a reunion stage during the year-end ceremonies. However, the reunion was put off after Lee Jae Won’s cancer was discovered and everyone decided it would be best for him to focus on treatment.”

one of my best friends was diagnosed with thyroid cancer earlier this year. luckily it is the easiest treatable type but it still really shook me up after she told me about it. pretty much any show that related to cancer left me an emotional mess.

hopefully its the same case for him and its a easily treatable and manageable cancer, hoping and wish the best for him!

Being diagnosed with cancer is one of the most terrible things ever but fortunately thyroid cancer is one of the most treatable ones, with a rate of +95% five years survival. I hope he can get well soon.

Lee Jae Won told Star News while only his way back to Korea from China, "I received the diagnosis of thyroid cancer last year in April. However, it was in the early stages. That year in July and August I received surgery and now I'm completely recovered... I'm currently working hard on broadcast in China in a healthy condition, I even recently participated in the filming of a Chinese variety show."
