Hwang to Unveil First Solo Album

Singer and actress Hwang Jung-eum will release her first solo album in late September to help promote her cosmetics business.

The 24-year-old made her debut as a member of girl group Sugar in 2002. She is now appearing in MBC-TV's sitcoms "High Kick Through the Roof" and the Sunday night show "We Got Married," where she stars with her lover Kim Yong-joon, a member of boy band SG Wannabe.

She has periodically performed a duet with Kim.

More recently, Hwang has been actively promoting her cosmetics business and has decided to sing in a PR video.

"I am grateful to fans' warm support for my acting, but I thought it might be better if I sing again to meet their wishes for my album," Hwang said.

Her agency said the album will contain cheerful and refreshing songs that will help heighten her attractiveness.
