Original Source: Novel - 최고의 결혼 by Jung Yi Joon (정이준)

Plot:
Cha Ki Young (Park Si Yeon) was once a successful news anchor living the good life, but everything changed when she defied expectations and became a single mother. Jo Eun Cha (Bae Soo Bin) was also once a news anchor, but left his career to campaign unsuccessfully for office. Though nothing quite pans out as expected for either Ki Young or Eun Cha, they've yet to discover what fate has in store for them. Meanwhile, four other couples grapple with whether or not they can really have it all in modern romance.

Cast:
Main Cast

The plot summary is a lie...what's important here is that apparently everything Cha Ki Young was going through really happens to women in Korea. Also after all that drama I'm not even mad the show went for a general happy ending (even if Eun Cha winning by 97% to pass her law and their non traditional family unit was unrealistic). I am curious how closely they followed the book.

GOD I NEED THIS!

This show was really good! It was crazy, but if you give up on logic it's a super fun watch!

I liked that it was fresh, funny, and VERY ridiculous. (In my heart I choose to believe the screenwriter was making fun of Korean society's need to over react to celebrity news).

I LOVED the first half, but TY turned craaaaazy (and brought a long that mess of a wife) and spoiled and everyone let him be and then the plot took a huge nosedive. I think the only way to like the 2nd half is to believe that it was satire on women's rights issues in Korea.

The end was foolishness, although I was sure she would sty with baby daddy just because the other guy wasn't really an option.

A for effort & uniqueness.

LOL, I started skipping threw after I realized the writer was serious about TY talking KY into getting back together for Dan~ so the last scene had me dying of laughter because I had missed too much but I knew nothing in the episode could truly explain how that happened. (run on sentence)

also I irl lmao when the writer decided to add in one last Dan kidnapping.

I was watching this with a couple from my group on twitter. We all ragequit after it went to makjang city and the drama's whole point seemed to be that a woman really IS useless without a man. A happy ending would have been CGY and her son, living capable lives. But she was a terribly unfit mother.

My imagining of what went on inside the writers' heads then: "Korea is a messy place for women, and we'd like that to change. But let's not show a woman being competent to handle her own personal and professional life. We'll make our male lead who's been the personification of scum save her and handle all the heavy lifting instead. And everyone, including the sperm donor who abandoned, then kidnapped the child gets forgiven. Cause life is about balance."

"...also give the evil sister a hot young hubby and a kid, after all the crazy, criminal activities, and just plain bitch slapping she deserves her own happiness."

YASSS! I love the way they try to make us hate every character in the drama but at the same time sympathize with them. It made me confused every time.

I wish the end would have an extension or something. Every episode was a mess but I was so excited to what would happen next. It's a very interesting watch in my opinion and the actors/actresses did well, specially Jo Eun Cha. Dang, he's such a great actor.

I'm sad that it ended, though I had to wait a whole week to see just an episode and then wait another week to see the other one.

If you're a dramatic/tragic/ridiculous/unrealistic drama addicted, then you should watch it. If not, then whatever.. just watch it!

THIS DRAMA HAD SO MUCH FREAKING POTENTIAL
Sadly, it went downhill after the ridiculousness of everything with all the makjang plots.

I wish they fleshed out myung yi more because her arc was so interesting. I sorta wish that she did end up giving birth but it wasn't really Taeyun's and then tries to kidnap Dan for his DNA when the family questions the legitimacy of the her child, preferably daughter, (i chose daughter because I want the show to delve deeper into gender inequality because let's face, taeyun's noona wasn't portrayed as a serious and effective feminist.)

And what is taeyun's character ?
