ZE:A′s Im Si Wan′s Humble Acceptance Speech at the ′MBC Drama Awards′ Catches Attention

Despite the overflowing amount of attention that he received in 2014, ZE:A′s Im Si Wan proved to be unfazed, staying humble as shown through his acceptance speech.

On December 30, Im Si Wan attended the 2014 MBC Drama Awards, where he took home the Best New Actor award for his role in Triangle.


Up on the stage, Im Si Wan stated, "I didn′t think that I would be receiving an award today. Instead, the only reason why I had a bit of greed towards an award was because when I was up for the Child Actor award last year, I anticipated it a lot."

He continued, "It feels really good to receive this award unexpectedly. As always, the more I receive awards, it feels better and better. However, I will personally not take any special meaning from this award that I received today. I will become Im Si Wan, who always studies and researches acting and approaches acting with much passion."

Im Si Wan returned to the microphone to add, "To all the people that I need to thank, I will personally call them. However, I don′t have the phone numbers of fans, so I will take this time to thank them."

Im Si Wan′s clean-cut and simple speech, a little over a minute, became highlighted, along with the humility Im Si Wan showed, especially in 2014 when his acting in the movie The Attorney and the tvN drama Misaeng was showered with praise.

With Im Si Wan currently receiving many offers for upcoming dramas and films, Im Si Wan′s 2015 is being anticipated by the public.

lulz hilarious how no one got his joke in the beginning about being nominated as a child actor last year at the age of 26

His speech is really cute. I wonder why he didnt think he will win since to me he is the clear winner in that category like Jang Nara for Top Excellent Award for Actress (since she didnt face any competition).

I pity Joon the most tbh. He's a good actor but he has yet to receive an award that matter like other idol actors...

Joon's acting career reminds me of Mblaq's idol career; full of talent n good work but never able to snag much recognition/awards. It must be very demoralising, I can only hope the future is brighter.

these were the MBC awards so the drama had to be on MBC. He won't get any Misaeng nods since TVN didn't hold an awards ceremony, hopefully if TVN dramas remain quality next year they'll hold an awards ceremony.

tVN isn't hosting a traditional awards ceremony but they are having the tvngo awards voted on by fans. Si Wan was nominated but he won't win because Reply 1994 dominated in his categories. I think Baro is getting the award in the categories he was nominated in.

He does have a good chance of getting nominated for a New Actor Baeksang in the spring.
