Yoon Mi Rae has revealed that the Hollywood film "The Interview" used her song without permission, and that she will be taking legal action.

Yoon Mi Rae's agency, Feel Ghood Music, said on December 26 that "There were initial discussions for using 'Pay Day' in the movie, but at some point, the discussions ceased and we assumed that it would not follow through. However, after the movie was released, we learned that the track had been used without permission, legal procedure, or contracts."

They added, "We will be taking legal action against Sony Pictures as well as DFSB, the agency that had been carrying out the discussion regarding the use of the track."

'The Interview' is a comedy film that deals with the assassination of the North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un. The track 'Pay Day' was used in the scene in which Kim Jong Un engages in hedonism.

'The Interview' has been in danger of not being released as it was under hacking attacks and threats. However, it is now receiving even greater attention with both online and offline distribution.

I HOPE SHE GETS A NICE BIG SETTLEMENT OUT OF THIS.
I'm judging the shit out of anyone who goes to watch this disgusting mess

I was so disappointed seeing Netizen comments to the release. Like in their minds they're making fun of NORTH Korea when most of the jokes are just blanket anti-Asian racism. I hope YMR gets a settlement large enough for it to hurt properly.

I've also seen a number of reviews saying the film is one big homophobic 'joke' (not so surprising given what sort of films Franco and Rogen keep making).

I hope she gets a lot of money from this. It ticks me off how much attention this movie is getting...I lost it the other day and posted a lot of documentaries about North Korea...like this attitude that somehow we're fighting for "freedom" when we watch this movie...no you're not. This does nothing to "free" the citizens of NK...in fact I would make a guess that this makes it harder on them.

GAH! I need to go cool off again...

This moovie looked so stupid from the preview and apparently people who saw it said it was bad. But it's gonna be a big hit because everyone wants to watch it now.

No one would even care about the movie if it wasn't led by white males, tbh.
I don't know why people went so hard for it, when I saw the commercial while watching tv I was automatically turned off.

Hopefully she gets her money!!

Reading the article, I actually had to google to check whether Kim Jong Un was assassinated or not. I thought I was out-of-loop with the current news luckily Im not. :P

I honestly think this whole thing was a publicity stunt Sony did because they knew the movie sucked bad via test audiences and had to find someway to drum up some interest in it. The whole premise of the plot was to stupid for this movie to survive without this faux media blitz. I'll never understand why they even green lighted this trash.

In America it's okay for cops to kill black people, and it's okay for hate crimes to continue unchecked. It's okay to take rights away from our citizens, but don't show a racist piece of trash movie because of threats and that's where they draw the line. This is the "freedom" that needs to be fought for.
OK.

Well, I agree that the movie should be shown. I don't agree that it ever should have been made, but now that it has, it should be released and then denounced as trash.

I am so glad that all of the commenters here disapprove of the movie like me. I have found NO ONE who agrees with me that this was a fucked up idea to begin with. Let me tell you if this movie was made with two Asian dudes trying to kill for example a European monarch there would be an uproar.

Sony and everyone involved should donate profits and salaries to North Korean defectors/refugees. Not that that will happen bc Hollywood sucks but I wish it would. Situations like this are what make me HATE working in the entertainment industry.

E very time I open YT there's an ad for this dumbass movie. I don't want to see it now, and I didn't want to see it when it was first announced. It seems like a cheap rip off of Team America anyways.

I hope Tasha gets paid. And I wish this was getting media coverage in the US. Sony is shit.

this film is the grossest example of white privilege. who else would think it's a good idea to make a film assassinating a CURRENT living world leader as a comedy. how is that funny in the slightest? all the gross white dudebros getting behind this gross racist trainwreck of a film as a symbol of "freedom" pls give me a break. this is so vile, i hope she wins tons & sony keeps losing that money.

This movie is completely disgusting and I just ??? at anyone who wants to pay money and watch it. Not only does it reek of orientalism and racism, it actually belittles and mocks the pain, suffering and horrors that millions of people in North Korea experience.

People get executed and tortured, women get raped by guards, and people are suffering through a famine in North Korea. But lmao, who cares about that and let's treat the whole thing as a joke and make money out of it.

/end rant (not really, I can go on for days about how fucking disgusting the whole thing is)
