BTOB has donated safety gloves to the firefighters of Jeonnam Fire Department.

The Jeonnam Fire Department tweeted a picture on December 19 along with the description, “Wearing firefighting safety gloves donated by Cube Entertainment (BTOB).” The picture showed the firefighters wearing the safety gloves while posing at the camera.

About this Cube Entertainment responded, “We would sincerely like to thank all the firefighters around the country, including the rescuers at the Jeonnam Fire Department.”

An online post created by one firefighter’s wife in June was what led to this donation. Upon finding out that the firefighter’s wife has to buy the gloves using personal money because there′s a lack of funds, the BTOB members decided to make a donation.

At the time, the firefighter’s wife’s post about how she purchases gloves through Amazon stirred a controversy. Citizens from all levels of society expressed their criticism on the fact that the firefighters have to use their personal money to buy gloves, when they risk their lives to rescue others and stop fires. When it was revealed that a number of local governments provided cotton work gloves instead of firefighters’ gloves, the controversy grew worse.

Upon hearing this, the BTOB members started collecting money in order to show their support. BTOB made a generous donation to the Jeonnam Fire Department along with the agency, asking, “Please use this money to purchase safety gloves.”

An affiliate of the agency shared, “The BTOB members have constantly been making donations to a number of government institutions,” and added, “Upon seeing the firefighter’s wife’s post, they decided to donate gloves in order to show support. We hope this can become an opportunity to enlighten people on the hard work of the firefighters.”
