“Monday Couple” Gary and Song Ji Hyo Become Models for Pharmaceutical Company

Gary and Song Ji Hyo, also known as the legendary “Monday Couple,” have been selected as new models for a pharmaceutical company.

The two will be advertising Kyungdong Pharmaceutical Corporation‘s general medicines under the brand name ‘For that day’ as well as functional foods for the health under the brand name ‘Naturewith.’ The advertisement will start airing on television starting from January.

A representative of the company revealed their reason for choosing Gary and Song Ji Hyo as their faces, “‘Monday Couple’ has been bringing great laughter to the viewers for many years through a variety show. Their healthy and fresh image goes well together with the image of our products, which protect the Korean people’s health, and thus we decided to choose them as our new faces. In January, the promotion of Gary and Song Ji Hyo couple’s advertisements with an approachable image will start, and we are expecting to see a positive effect on our company image."

I know (despite all of my wishes) that their relationship isn't real...but they are so stinkin' cute I can't stand it. It seems that this past year Song Ji Hyo has been more forward with Gary than her normal cute but at an arms distance personality...but I try not to get my hopes up since this is TV and their coupling is beneficial for both of their images.



(I watched this episode yesterday for like the 5th time and their team playing "house" (Gary being the long-distance-clubbing-father) had me rolling.)

Don't even get me started on Cat couple. I have only watched the first two episodes of them in WGM and I ship them hardcore. (When I started watching them in WGM I had to stop because of my crazy work schedule. I should catch up and watch them all now...)

Handle the cat couple episodes with caution b/c their chemistry is crazy hot lol. They're the first time I've ever shipped a non-drama relationship. I get the feeling SJR wouldn't mind going out for real whereas KSE is still a bit reserved and feeling out the waters. I figure the WGM PDs are bound to strike romantic gold *at least once* and produce a real life couple--which they did with Gundam couple but that relationship was rocky from the getgo--and I'm just hoping it's cat couple.

If there is one thing that annoys me tho is that when they show the segment of who gets punished by the end of the episode you already know who it is by what they are wearing in the clip. I turn a blind eye when they get to that part tho lol.

As far as the public knows, no. Song Ji Hyo dated a CEO (?) for awhile but that ended about 1.5+ years ago...(from what I remember). (You can tell the period in the RM seeks because SJH distanced herself from Monday Couple stuff and people teased Gary/Gary joked about them divorcing.)

There were rumors about her breaking up with the CEO and looking not to renew her contract with CJES...

but then CJES was like "???? Wat, where did you even get that idea from?" and that was the last news news of it. I can't recall her ever saying anything publicly herself.

I don't remember any public press release or anything, but the comments made by the RM cast (and her reactions) heavily implied that they broke things off. (She was SUPER SUPER stand off-ish towards anything MC related during her relationship and then suddenly MC was back "on" and cast members were making comments that Gary could win back her heart now.)

hm but I remember she did an interview about a year after where she said she was still in a relationship, and that was when she started getting comfortable again with gary on screen around the same time too.
honestly at this point no one really knows. I know for sure Gary was prob in a relationship last year with someone else, but someone below said he's now single again lol.
Sadly it's the main way for either of them to get any screen time, so I'm ok with it as long as they're ok

Yeah I knew Gary had a couple of hard breakups since it seems like it was more of a long term relationship that parted ways. Boy is making money off of his broken heart though so good for him.
