Model Lee Ji Yeon and GLAM’s Dahee are demanded by the prosecution to serve three years in jail for blackmailing actor Lee Byung Hun.

At the third trial held at the Seoul Central District Court on December 16, the prosecution demanded Lee Ji Yeon and GLAM’s Dahee to serve a three year sentence.

“Dahee and Lee Ji Yeon admitted to being accomplices however, they denied planning the crime and doing the crime itself. The crime is severe and a strict punishment is needed so we demand a three-year sentence,” stated the prosecution.

“(In asking for this sentence,) we have considered that the crime involved the two (ladies) planning the crime and using private recording to extort money. They have shifted the blame to the victim and they didn’t repent nor self-reflect. They have caused great psychological to the victim’s family as well,” added the prosecution.

The prosecution also showed text messages as evidence as proof that before Lee Ji Yeon and Dahee met with Lee Byung Hun last August, the two ladies possessed private recordings that they intended to extort money with.

“(Although it is argued by the defense that Lee Ji Yeon and Lee Byung Hun were in a romantic relationship), the meetings between those two people are very few. There isn’t any truth to the relationship of the two considering that the messages she sent with Dahee belittles Lee Byung Hun,” added the prosecution.

On the other hand, Lee Ji Yeon’s camp denied that the crime was premeditated. Lee Ji Yeon’s side also stated that the announcement of the criminal probe was partial to the victim’s side such that the messages sent by Lee Ji Yeon to Lee Byung Hun were revealed but the messages sent by Lee Byung Hun to Lee Ji Yeon were partially not submitted.

1. [+16,742, -1,648] Lee Byung Hun and Lee Min Jung are on one boat and you can't deny that the two women are bad people as well for the immense amount of money they thought they could demand. However, Lee Byung Hun is the one at the center of all of this since he's the one who provided fodder for the girls to run with.

2. [+16,324, -1,440] Demanding a three year sentence is too much... Lee Byung Hun really should release the video to the public so that the public can judge for themselves.

4. [+11,263, -685] Who cares if she had a boyfriend, it can't be any worse than you who has a wife

5. [+2,350, -84] Either way... doesn't change the fact that the three of them were hanging out and drinking when Lee Min Jung was out of town

it's only the prosecutors' demand so the actual sentence will likely be two or three year of stay of execution. but still, this is still really annoying.
legal system is fucked up when it comes to rapists and murderers but when it comes to threatening a rich male celeb justice must be served or something ugh.

funnily enough i was just listening to kang ha neul on monstar and realized the girl singing with him is dahee oop

I'm shocked. On the one hand sure what they did was a crime, but what he did is completely unacceptable too.

Even more so it's insulting that they want longer than rapists, murderers, and abusers get.

Three years probation I could see. Yeah, they committed a crime and should have to pay for it, but three years in jail? As others have said in this post and others, rapist and murderers get less time, it just doesn't compute that attempted blackmail would incur this harsh a sentence. Hopefully the judge tells the prosecution to calm down and doesn't give them near 3 years.

People who keep pointing out what "he did" kind of make me laugh because he didn't break any laws. It's not illegal to cheat it is typically merely grounds for divorce but that doesn't make it "illegal" Also because these girls blackmailed him, and from the last news I saw (PLEASE update me with receipts if this is no longer true) there is no proof that these girls didn't willingly get into this situation so they would have ammo to blackmail him.

Blackmail on the other hand IS illegal, and should be punished by law, just not to this fucking extreme like Jesus. They need to be fined or jailed or both, but 3 fucking years? Get the fuck out of here, when you start putting pedophiles, rapist, and murders in jail all for life, then you can start giving people guilty of blackmail 3 years.

Both these girls completely lost their careers to this too, I'd say maybe a year probation and some kind of fine would be a fitting punishment but three years is madness. Prosecutors always aim really high though it'll only be true bullshit if the judge agrees.

Also before you jump on me, I do not CONDONE cheating, but acting like he broke the law in this case here is ridiculous. He's a gross disgusting scumbag, but he IS the victim here regardless of if he brought it on himself. If they had merely exposed him as a cheater I would be all game to drag this man, but they exposed him not because he's a scumbag, but because they wanted millions of dollars from him so they could run off and live happily ever after.

adultery is illegal in South Korea

Adultery is illegal, touche. Thank you for that, I remember reading that people weren't often jailed for it, but I see that it is illegal just people aren't often given jail time anymore for it.

From what I understand though he didn't have sex with these women he merely skeeved on them like a gross disgusting old man right? Technically if they were willing that wouldn't be sexual assault (and from the articles I read it seemed they were willing with the intention of getting this ammo against him), it's also probably not going to be considered adultery as they didn't actually do anything physical as far as I read.

they probably did have sex (lee ji yeon and lbh), but both are claiming that they didn't and lee ji yeon's just claiming that there was just some "deep physcial intimacy" so she doesn''t have to add adultery to her list of crimes XD
