Model Lee Ji Yeon and GLAM’s Dahee are demanded by the prosecution to serve three years in jail for blackmailing actor Lee Byung Hun.
At the third trial held at the Seoul Central District Court on December 16, the prosecution demanded Lee Ji Yeon and GLAM’s Dahee to serve a three year sentence.
“Dahee and Lee Ji Yeon admitted to being accomplices however, they denied planning the crime and doing the crime itself. The crime is severe and a strict punishment is needed so we demand a three-year sentence,” stated the prosecution.
“(In asking for this sentence,) we have considered that the crime involved the two (ladies) planning the crime and using private recording to extort money. They have shifted the blame to the victim and they didn’t repent nor self-reflect. They have caused great psychological to the victim’s family as well,” added the prosecution.
“(Although it is argued by the defense that Lee Ji Yeon and Lee Byung Hun were in a romantic relationship), the meetings between those two people are very few. There isn’t any truth to the relationship of the two considering that the messages she sent with Dahee belittles Lee Byung Hun,” added the prosecution.
On the other hand, Lee Ji Yeon’s camp denied that the crime was premeditated. Lee Ji Yeon’s side also stated that the announcement of the criminal probe was partial to the victim’s side such that the messages sent by Lee Ji Yeon to Lee Byung Hun were revealed but the messages sent by Lee Byung Hun to Lee Ji Yeon were partially not submitted.

However, Lee Byung Hun is the one at the center of all of this since he's the one who provided fodder for the girls to run with.

Date: 2014-12-17 04:19 pm (UTC)Blackmail on the other hand IS illegal, and should be punished by law, just not to this fucking extreme like Jesus. They need to be fined or jailed or both, but 3 fucking years? Get the fuck out of here, when you start putting pedophiles, rapist, and murders in jail all for life, then you can start giving people guilty of blackmail 3 years.
Both these girls completely lost their careers to this too, I'd say maybe a year probation and some kind of fine would be a fitting punishment but three years is madness. Prosecutors always aim really high though it'll only be true bullshit if the judge agrees.
Also before you jump on me, I do not CONDONE cheating, but acting like he broke the law in this case here is ridiculous. He's a gross disgusting scumbag, but he IS the victim here regardless of if he brought it on himself. If they had merely exposed him as a cheater I would be all game to drag this man, but they exposed him not because he's a scumbag, but because they wanted millions of dollars from him so they could run off and live happily ever after.

Date: 2014-12-17 10:48 pm (UTC)From what I understand though he didn't have sex with these women he merely skeeved on them like a gross disgusting old man right? Technically if they were willing that wouldn't be sexual assault (and from the articles I read it seemed they were willing with the intention of getting this ammo against him), it's also probably not going to be considered adultery as they didn't actually do anything physical as far as I read.
