You understand how different two cultures are when you think of the way they consider Christmas. Our century may have blurred the major differences between most areas of the world in terms of lifestyle, there is still one big point that remains to remind us that the whole planet never evolved the same way everywhere.

Christmas is, for most Western citizens, a moment of sharing and gratefulness that they spend in family – if not a religious celebration – around delicious meals. However, Asia – where Christianity was introduced long after Europe – sees that special day through a different angle: here, you basically spend Christmas with your beloved soulmate, your half, the person who shares your life. You may have noticed, but Korea actually finds every occasion appropriate enough to celebrate love. And speaking of couples, brand The Kooples just opened a store in Seoul.





There was probably not better field for the fashion giant to exert its influence and power. And the inauguration was attended by two of the Korean fashion sphere new icons, Heo Ga Yoon and Lee Gi Kwang. The singers shared their culture and lifestyle while MCing OnStyle’s popular show ‘STYLE LOG.’ They may not be dating in real life, they looked like they were meant to be together last Wednesday. To express not only the concept of the brand but also the mood that surrounds the whole country lately they flaunted greatly coordinated couple looks.



Black was the key word. Black will actually always be the key word, especially when it comes to The Kooples, which is a brand that – besides encouraging people’s individuality – only swears by the superiority of black. Ga Yoon went for a cotton mini dress that she covered with a modernly printed belted jacket of the same length for a subtle layering. The mini cut was never so hot this winter. Women are stronger than anything, including the icy wind and harsh cold. She flaunted semi-bare legs that she kept warm with the shoes of the year: the leather high boots. Sexy.



Gi Kwang wore what we can call the uniform of Korean top models. He paired a high-neck black knit with rolled-up cotton pants, a pair of beautiful leather shoes and a leather jacket that presents a fur collar. The point of his outfit was that he didn’t show a piece of flesh other than his hands and face (see: socks), marking an opposition with his colleague’s revealing look.



However, if we talking about the two idol stars as a Koople, it’s not only because they both wore black to the opening event of the brand’s new boutique but also because they flaunted the same brightness, the same easy-going charisma and enthusiasm. Was it because of their hair (we see what they did there) or because of their good mood that night? We let you the benefit of the doubt.

slay gayoon slay. i adore her shoes. sometimes i wanna wear shoes that tall but im 5'10 so i'd tower over everyone more than I already do. Plus I'm not huge into fashion, I prefer comfort over style

im 6' and found a pair of thigh high boots with low heels years ago and forever regret not buying them. its so hard finding them both long enough in fabric and without a ridiculous stiletto heel

ugh i agree. also 6'?!?!?! why hasn't Tyra found you yet?!?! audition for ANTM!! Kenneth Cole has nice thigh high boots with low heels. They're at Costco, I wanted to buy them when they were 59.99 but i had no money so i think they're back to 79.99 now.
