Watch on Gooddrama|Viki
In the early 1980s, there were five friends who ran an illegal broadcasting station.
Back then, the world was much simpler.
It was clear what had to be defended and fought for.
The way to go forth was like a straight line.
But reality destroys ideals.
Time teaches one about betrayal and compromise.
Now, their children have grown up to their twenties.
One of them became an agent who steals the secrets of others at night.
Another is a paparazzi who digs for information about others behind their backs.
In this damned world left behind by their parents,
political and societal justice are just unlucky words to them.
But there is one person who will take them forward. Thanks to him…
These children now start to harbour the same dreams as their parents. A dream to become a real reporter.
But in order to become true reporters, there is a wall that they have to overcome.
This world that their parents have shaped and left behind for them.
Will these children be able to become the real reporters that their parents once dreamed of?
Will they be able to untie the knots of the past and change the world?
“The world messed with us first,” one person among us said.
“No, it is us who have sinned against the world,” yet another person said.
- Hwang Jin Woo, from “Within the Broad-leaved Forest”

Date: 2014-12-11 07:00 pm (UTC)I admit I'm already intrigued and will probably keep watching and the fact that Ji Chang Wook is one of the most beautiful lead actors ever contributes a lot to this.
It reminds me a bit of City Hunter, though the way LMH disguised himself never seemed believable but JCW as Healer actually puts an effort into disusing himself and staying anonymous.
AHJUMMA IS THE BEST CHARACTER EVER YAAS. Finally a talented older actress was not casted as grandmother/scary mother-in-law/lost mom. Her "hello" is great.
The dance-off between PMY and her dad was awesome, I almost wish he'd be my dad. They're to me already the best father-daughter otp ever.
I guess so far the rooftop scene, which was beautiful and emotional, is my favorite.

Date: 2014-12-11 10:51 pm (UTC)The 1980s story is.. lame. It just lacks something but I try not to skip those scenes b/c I feel like they might be important for the present soryline. I hope they'll include less flashbacks in future episodes.
Though the music is good.

Date: 2014-12-12 07:26 pm (UTC)The music is good, and Ji Chang Wook looks REALLY good in this too. And of course, he's doing a good job acting too. But I had to chuckle a bit when he already had his shirtless scene in the first episode xD

Date: 2014-12-11 10:29 pm (UTC)it has potential. im excited for chang wook's and min young's friendship/romance and how that will pan out. plus all the weird multiple personalities dramas will start airing soon and as much as i love hyun bin & sung joon, they all sound terrible. also poor park seo joon, he didn't deserve second male lead in that trash 8 personalities drama.
min young and her dad are the cutest. i hope nothing stupid tears them apart. Ahjumma is flawless, i love her in every drama and im glad she got this role. overall i have hope and it's fun so that's what matters.

Date: 2014-12-11 11:05 pm (UTC)I'm not looking forward to all those messy multiple personalities dramas in January despite the fact I like Hyun Bin and Ji Sung, I kind of pity Sung Joon and Park Seo Joon, Hopefully they'll get their own prime time dramas after this. So Healer feels like a breathe of fresh air and dramas with action are my guilty pleasure.
it's fun so that's what matters.
IA. As long as they don't mess with the tone and keep it exciting, I'll be watching.
Plus more Ji Chang Wook abs.btw: I never paid attention to your username until... now. Sometimes I feel like rewatching Goong lol. I can't believe that YEH turned into a bombshell, when she used to be cute but so awkward.

Date: 2014-12-11 11:56 pm (UTC)The weird 1980s flashbacks are so? like i think their was some accident and Noona got paralyzed/lost her child (who is MIn Young) and her husband/boyfriend/lover was killed. I also think her current husband is the killer/kidnapper judging from his super creepy jealous glares and his brother is trying to reveal his sins. It seems so messy and pointless.
I'm going to attempt to watch both of the multiple personality dramas bcuz I adore the casts but I have no faith whatsoever. I'm still so upset Ahn Jaehyun got a lead role over Sung Joon and Paek Seo Joon, how did this happen? Also bless Kim Soo Hyun for turning down that Dr Frankenstein drama, this multiple personalities thing needs to stop and it hasn't even been started yet.
As long as it doesn't take itself too seriously, I'm going to keep watching. It's probs going to be better than the other Mon-Tues dramas. Also Min Young and Chang Wook, how can I not watch.

Date: 2014-12-12 12:56 am (UTC)You basically took the words out of mouth. I'm guessing the same. So far the background story seems boring but I guess there's some government corruption and media manipulation involved, too.
Blood's casting still left me puzzled, I like Ahn Jae Hyun but lead role? There are already rumors that there's something wrong with the script, otherwise why would've at least two other actors declined? But I can already tell you, I'll probably be watching this and Kill Me, Heal Me and Jekyll and Me because apparently I hate myself.

Date: 2014-12-12 12:22 am (UTC)So Hyunbin drama will be Mon-Thurs on SBS replacing Secret Door? While Ji Sung's will be Wed-Thurs?

Date: 2014-12-12 01:06 am (UTC)Punch by The Chaser/Empire of Gold script writer will be replacing Secret Door, I'm looking forward to this but his dramas demand a lot of attention from the viewer, because they're really detailed with darker story lines and great dialogues.

Date: 2014-12-12 12:45 am (UTC)Well, the synopsis does sound weird, dramawiki (http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Healer) got a clearer one and much shorter. That synopsis was written by Song Ji Na otherwise I suggest reading dramabeans' recap of the first episode.

Date: 2014-12-12 07:28 pm (UTC)163 cm and only 42 kg?! This might be a detail, but it's worrying how this is portrayed as "normal" weight.
