SM Entertainment and EXO-M’s Luhan, who is currently looking to nullify his contract with the agency, will be entering a court-appointed mediation to discuss their situation.
According to the Seoul Central District Court on November 25th, it has already been decided in October the case would go through mediation as appointed by the court. The meeting will have both parties discuss their sides in hopes to come up with a mutual compromise with a mediator present, someone who is of neither side. However, should SM Entertainment and Luhan not come to an agreement, the case will be brought to court.
Luhan has expressed through his lawsuit that the agency has discriminated between the EXO-K and EXO-M, which consists of Korean and Chinese members respectively, in terms of activities.
“The K team was supported by SM Entertainment and was very active, but in comparison, the M team was not very active and suffered from lack of funding. As a result, we had a very hard time,” Luhan commented, further emphasizing his profit sharing from EXO-M’s activities and the excessive intrusion in his personal life that eventually caused his health to deteriorate and create health issues.
SM Entertaiment, however, rebutted and stated, “When you come with the same legal team and try to press the same charges upon us in the same method when there is no apparent reason for a lawsuit, it only appears as if the star [he] is ignoring all understanding with the company and those effected as soon as one gains fame to better ones own profit and fame.”
Meanwhile, Luhan has been pursuing personal activities in China during his hiatus from EXO-M following his lawsuit to withdraw from SM Entertainment.

4. [+2,573, -157] Seems Luhan never thought they were one from the start, "we are one" was always just a slogan he was obligated to chant

Article: SM "Currently in discussion with several Chinese companies... initial reports of investments are not true"
Source: OSEN via Naver
1. [+71, -3] SM's been on their own all this time but with all this betrayal going on, seems they're aiming to just grab on to a Chinese company. It's a good idea since if anyone else betrays them, they can just block their activities in China too.
2. [+59, -4] IU's agency has pretty much been bought out by China... They're a Chinese company now.. all of the profits go to China ㅋㅋㅋ
3. [+45, -1] Reading the article, it sounds like they are leaning towards receiving Chinese investments...
4. [+40, -2] Seems SM's looking to take in Chinese investments.
5. [+22, -0] Chinese investments are already flowing into the industry. Melon's Loen Entertainment was bought out by Hong Kong investments.

Netizens spewing the same xenophobic crap we've heard since Han Geng & Yi Fan. How shocking. /rme
Anyway, it seems like the rumors were true and his health wasn't just the only reason; most likely it was the straw that broke the camel's back?
What do y'all think, Omona?

Date: 2014-11-26 01:44 am (UTC)honestly, it seems like netz are just jealous/angry that they didn't want to stay in their shithole of a market and were able to get out (and potentially do more). surely they realize SM wants that chinese $$$ just as much as they think luhan/kris do ...

the comments are irritating, but i'm not so bothered by the ones wishing luhan failure if only because their rage and bitterness is so impotent. dude is going to be able to make enough from his new ventures to buy out the rest of exo before long

Right now he must continue to recover, promote his movie some more in January, then take over China for the rest of 2015.
Also, did yall know that he just won the Most Valuable Male Star award (http://tofupost.com/2014/11/luhan-wins-valuable-male-star-award-baidu-moments-conference/) at a baidu awards thing? these k-netz would love it if ex-SM artists just dropped off the face of the earth after they leave their company BUT NO THEY KEEP SLAYING!

Date: 2014-11-26 03:58 am (UTC)B/c, it's a job. Being an entertainer is a job. If people want to leave it or their company for elsewhere or a different line of work, that's fine. Like, have these people never had to leave a workplace cause it was just so awful?
Also, all of entertainment business is smoke and mirrors. Just b/c performers are smiling on stage doesn't mean they're happy behind the scenes. I want to give the benefit of the doubt and say only kids think like this, but if these are like yahoo comments, they're mostly adults.

some fans act like they wanted to sue their own company from the start. a lawsuit is a big deal and is usually a last resort. maybe they think legal fees are super cheap and leaving everything they've known for years with little to no compensation is easy. it just kills fans to admit that this company is shady as hell but there's definitely something suspicious about two members of the same group suing the same company in the same year. but god forbid certain fans use logic.

Date: 2014-11-26 04:52 am (UTC)but eventually I did because there are those people who do want to know what K-Netz think and if people want to ignore the comments, they don't have to click the read more. (omg i didn't mean for that to sound mean btw)
And EXO, from what we've seen, is very supportive of Luhan and idk, that kind of makes me bitter af. Kris and Lu left for the exact same reasons (Health and SM's treatment of EXO-M or at the very least the chinese members) and yet, only the boys seem to support Luhan and completely bash Kris to all hell.
IDK man.

Date: 2014-11-26 05:58 am (UTC)Also - and this is total speculation based on watching Showtime and other interviews waaaaay too many times and no actual knowledge - but it seemed like LuHan was a lot closer with the rest of the members than Kris ever was? At least with the K members.
So far the only one who has unfriended LuHan on instagram was Chanyeol and there's no telling with Sehun and Baekhyun because they both follow zero now. You can't even go by Weibo because there's an option to have hidden followers, to my understanding, so they could potentially be friends on Weibo, though I honestly think they're all more likely to text and instant message than keep in contact over social media anyways.
And I've put waaaay too much thought into this so I'mma stop typing now lol

Date: 2014-11-26 05:53 am (UTC)Why do I bother reading them? SO much rage
I am a major LuHan stan, so I'm incredibly biased here (especially because LuHan WAS my EXO bias) but I can't believe these comments. I know Netizens don't represent all of Korea and that most who are commenting on LuHangate and EXOdus are teeny boppers but not one voice of dissent amongst the xenophobic onslaught?
EXO-M was hugely popular and doing way better in China than EXO-K was doing in Korea. They didn't truly make it in Korea until 'Growl' and OT-12 and then it really took off, but even though SM pulled M out of China to bail out K - EXO-K were the only ones really reaping the benefit with additional promotions, screen time, and opportunities. They try to promote that M was getting the opportunities as well, but really they were focused on the Korean members, Xiumin and Chen (no hate about that, especially for Minseok. Love the boazi).
Even now as they're trying to say that SM treats them fairly, K is promoting all over the place and M is put on a back shelf waiting. Part of that is because they're trying to sort out the future of M with four - sure - but their schedules aren't changed in terms of the large events like Music Bank from before LuHan's departure. It was always K-biased.
Sorry for the rant, especially to a bunch of posters who totally feel the same, but SM is pissing me off so much.
Plus, LuHan's been turning things down in China and the companies he's turned down have all said he has declined due to his health. He's still recovering months later because he'd deteriorated that badly. His work as an actor was all done when he was part of EXO and SMent and yet I've seen so many articles about how he ran off with his k-pop fame to become an actor but he hasn't done anything professionally since (though there are rumours that he may, possibly, be in talks for a part in a movie but it's all gossip based on the fact that an author followed him on Weibo).
I honestly think that, despite all the ill treatment and inequality, LuHan would still be a part of EXO if his health hadn't gotten so bad. I've been following everything he's been doing with Back to 20's/Missy Granny remake and in the behind the scenes videos he was constantly going over his EXO choreography and making the EXO signs with his hands. He was fully dedicated and the filming was only a month or two before he had to go on rest.
EXO-M was everything.
'scuse me while I go sob in my cornflakes.
I say - you go LuLu. Go get your fame and your health (and your LaoGoa/Cobby!) and I'll be cheering for you
also, dearest LuHan, please grab Tao and Yixing and bring them with you. And Minseok too. And maybe Sehun.
