cube messed it up for sure. either don't say it's an anniversary song, or introduce the cover with more teasers or something. it's the same coastline as the album cover, so can't say it wasn't planned.

gayoon is... not my cup of tea, still. now she doesn't scream, but ends up sounding empty instead. maybe it's just that i heard her live once... that squealing of a performance will haunt me for a while. give me hyunseung at least in a duet with her or something to loosen it up. i want to like her so much, she seems so nice. but this tone...

I can understand that they feel cheated, a BEAST anniversary song without BEAST singing sounds weird indeed. But all that hate ? Seriously ? What has she done, other than singing your oppas' song better than them ? Uh netizens go in a corner, you're grounded.
I enjoy Gayoon's voice when she's singing this kind of song. It suits her, what a lovely cover !

I think it was a really pretty cover. Her voice matched the song perfectly. I do however think it was an oversight on Cube's part to have someone cover this song, when it was supposed to be a song made especially for Beauties. Of course they'd throw a fit. This whole business is kept afloat by making these fans ultra possessive, so it's not like it's a surprise.

She has a good voice, but it seems so flat here. I think Jiyoon has the strongest voice in 4minute and should be getting solos.

And I understand why Beast fans are mad at Cube. It's not cool to release a cover of a song "for the fans" almost right after the original.

But lol at everyone on Omona hating Beast just because they were one of the first groups to be discovered to be problematic. All your faves are, they just hide it or get away with it. Kpop is full of sexism, racism, etc. The culture as a whole needs to get with the times when it comes to acceptance. It's hard to enjoy Kpop when it's full of really closed-minded viewpoints.

I don't think it's unwarranted that fans are upset. The song was said to be a present for the fans, it was PROMOTED that way, and to have someone else sing it, when they were still winning for it last week? Oversight.

However the anger should be directed at Cube not at her.
