Having already become TV's hip-hop sensation with their “Show Me the Money” series, Mnet is planning on creating a female rapper survival game program.

Teams of 8 to 10, or perhaps individual players, will participate by guessing the producer of a song that is presented. The program is scheduled to air in December, and because the program is still in its planning stage, the format of the game may change.

The hip-hop frenzy swept over Korea's music charts since last year, yet female rappers were absent from this phenomenon.

Mnet’s goal is to begin broadcasting in December, but they have only cast only half of the contestants so Mnet plans to expedite the production of this program as soon as they find a diverse group of contestants.

Among the producers are the most popular who have the greatest influence to the hip-hip scene.

A music industry associate stated, “There are many aspiring female rappers these days who have their own distinct color. I am anticipating that a female rapper star will arise soon. I think that this new Mnet program will help encourage more female rappers.”

1. [+2,270, -29] Hopefully Yook Jidam isn't on this show again?

2. [+1,640, -214] Rappers always get into diss battles and stuff but they never diss anyone with power like MC Mong or Park Druggie ㅋㅋ makes the actual diss battles seem like kids play that they get into if their feelings get hurt..

3. [+1,286, -19] I know it'll be hard but I hope there'll be a second Yoon Mirae ㅠㅠ

4. [+946, -31] Will Yook Jidam be on the show? ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

5. [+213, -16] Can we just have an idol version of 'I Am a Singer' and cast Goo Hara, Yoona, Sohee, and Son Naeun so we can see who the worst singer is

6. [+185, -5] I guarantee you it'll only take three episodes for the show to discover a bitch

7. [+162, -7] I bet the show will be full of kids like YG's girl group rappers

8. [+149, -7] Top female Korean rappers: #1 Yoon Mirae #2 Tasha #3 T #4 Tiger JK's wife #5 Jordan's mom

9. [+142, -4] Yoon Mirae better be a part of the judge panel

10. [+74, -2] I want to see a rap battle between Clara and Yook Jidam

MC Mong has power now?

But bakc on topic, I haven't watched Show Me The Money, but this could be a really good idea if they do right by the participants.

Erine is such an underrated idol rapper T_T LE already has some underground cred but Bipa needs more exposure!!

erin is so so so good and she knows it :( bringing LE onto a show like this will probably also bring more views from ~real hiphop knowers~ cause it won't look like a regular music core program if you get what i mean lmao plus she'd get more than just 8 lines in a song

I'd watch it. It will be messy since they still can't get SMTM right.

I know people are saying it's sexism because it's like saying the girls can't compete with the guys on SMTM but look at the talent level they accepted for females in SMTM3 (most were bad, didn't write their own raps, could remember hat was written for them etc.) and then the good ones were either cut (Jolly V) or not given proper screen time (Toy) and once you factor in fan votes there's a million issues with that.

I'm not against giving women their own platform. I just wish it will be actual underground talent with more of a battle league feel so the ladies can show they go hard too when you're not sabotaging them every chance you get.

She was eliminated b/c she forgot her lyrics but started freestyling instead. And I understand it's a valid cut but like, I think something can be said for an MC who improvises under that kind of pressure?? Pre-planning hip-hop/rap kind of sucks the spirit out of it all IMO.

#2 needs to stfu about Bom. Seriously? Why should a rapper diss her? She has nothing to do with rap. (And that's disregarding that one chick that actually did do a diss track aimed at her.)

So much fail, I can't.

It's so stupid how thirsty netz are for wanting Bom to get dissed by rappers, yet I don't see them mentioning acual powerful celebs who are problematic like Kim Hyunjoong or Lee Byunghun. They seriously need to fuck off with that bs.

A lot of nugu idol groups have really talented female rappers. I always feel like they would have better careers as underground rappers instead of fighting through the idol game.

I hope Rimi is in this.

I think it's a nice idea, gives the female rappers some spotlight. I just hope the show's format will be good. I don't think SMTM3's format was the best - the 1 vs. 1 rounds were a bad idea. The SMTM2 format, with the "crew" battle idea, wasn't good either.

I wonder if Tymee and Jolly V. will come back? lol I bet Mnet would love it if they did.

Yeah, I've read the producersl pick people who'll look good on TV, as well. So you know...some talented people might be left behind if they aren't thebomb.com looks-wise. Hopefully, a whole different staff will be used for this show.

I wish underground rappers pulled together and started up something like Smack/Url/Queen of the Ring. Like I can bet they have something close to it already just grow that platform and make it accessible to more people. Like get a Youtube channel and post the battles or something because depending on shit like Mnet is going to cause more harm than good.

I love MIC Swagger, it reminds me of Tigger's basement on Rap City (I miss when BET was Black owned). I'll have to check out Galmighty auditions and the Boxer series. Maybe they just need actual MCs running things behind the scenes with Mnet. I just want there to be a GOOD mainstream hip-hop show finally without all the bullshit.

I like the idea of having this stage for females in the making. Giving shine to more women in the industry is a great idea and you know there are a bunch of ladies over there with bars. Now, you can actually focus on them. I do hope Tasha has some part in the show. She would be a great judge/producer honestly.

I guess the auditions already happened since they are casting? Hmmm, well either way, I'll give it a watch. Though, I really hope a different staff is on this because the format needs work. They really need to change up the whole audition process, tbh. I mean, the first and second round was good and then it went kinda left afterwards. Fix it!

I need Queen Bipa to go on this and slay.

If some of the judges are guys (and short of importing non-Koreans, I'm not sure how they would do an all-woman panel; there's Tasha and then ... CL sorta? that have the long enough careers and the recognition with the public) I think Tablo and Tiger JK could be good.
