Star Empire Entertainment made a statement regarding Jewelry′s rumored disbandment.
Star Empire Entertainment told Newsen on NOvember 18, "Jewelry member, Ha Joo Yeon′s contract recently ended. Park Semi′s contract will end sometime this month. However, the disbandment of Jewelry has not been decided yet."
"Park Semi is currently shooting MBC every1′s Boarding House 24th St. When she is done, we will discuss the issue."
The agency rep added, "Ha Joo Yeon′s contract has already finished, but she hasn′t decided whether or not to re-sign. It′s currently a time to discuss re-signing. Kim Ye Won still has a few more years on her contract."
In January, Kim Eun Jung left Jewelry, leaving the group to continue promoting as three. But with the contracts coming to an end for two members, the future of Jewelry is gaining much attention.
Jewelry debuted in 2001 with Park Jung Ah, Lee Ji Hyun, Jung Yoo Jin, and Jun Eun Mi. In 2002, Jung Yoo Jin and Jun Eun Mi left the group with Jo Min Ah and Seo In Young being added. Jo Min Ah and Lee Ji Hyun left in 2005, with Kim Eun Jung and Ha Joo Yeon being added. Park Jung Ah, Seo In Young, Kim Eun Jung, and Ha Joo Yeon rose to the group′s peak with its hit song One More Time, but in 2009, Seo in Young and Park Jung Ah official left the group with Kim Ye Won and Park Semi joining. They promoted the songs Back It Up, Look At Me, Hot & Cold and more since then.
