Noh Hong Chul’s Blood Alcohol Content Test Results Out, License Will Be Canceled

The blood test results for Noh Hong Chul, who was recently caught drinking and driving, have been revealed, showing that the entertainer had a blood alcohol content of over 0.1 percent. This is well over the legal limit in Korea, which is 0.05 percent. Police revealed that these sorts of cases usually result in a fine and a one-year cancellation of the offender’s driver’s license.

A source from the Gangnam police station stated to TV Report on November 14, “We will be summoning Noh Hong Chul for testimony next week to ask him for his account of the situation.”

Previously, the entertainer was caught drinking and driving on November 8, at which time he refused the breathalyzer test and requested a blood test. Following the incident, Noh Hong Chul issued an official apology, stating that he would withdraw from his current variety programs, “Infinity Challenge” and “I Live Alone.”

I will never defend anyone who chooses to get behind the wheel drunk and endangers everyones lives. The fact that he was just trying to move parking spots still isn't an excuse.

As I read this, I could only think about the US, and how a DUI is just another day in the life, and how callously the public overlooks it. I can't even count how many celebs get DUIs, yet in Korea they're branded with the scarlet letter. That's one thing from Korea that I do envy. When it comes to DUI's there's an actual backlash, which in its way, makes the stars more accountable. They may be just as insincere as US celebrities, but at least their wallet will suffer because of it.

Anyway, I hope Hongchul sincerely reflects.

I just watched a IC ep last week where Hongchul said he doesn't drink when he has to drive and now this.
He messed up, he drank and lied about it. I don't believe that he only wanted to repark his car.

I can't believe his agency even had the audacity to say something along the lines of "he was just parking his car". Like no. No. Doesn't matter if he was going 2 feet. He shouldn't have been driving.
