Rookie girl group, 4minute, has surpassed popular idol singer GDragon on the Dosirak charts with their comeback title song, "Muzik". Since the reveal of their title song, it quickly shot up to the top of most charts but battled with "Heartbreaker" for the top slot. "Muzik" is still resting comfortably at the top of most charts, but Dosirak is the first chart where the girl group has surpassed such a popular singer as GDragon.




4minute has taken in another endorsement as models for the Sony Walkman E series which their title track "Muzik" was revealed through its CF back in July. The song still runs in its CFs.

I'm sorry but these posts about people surpassing Ji on these charts are really pointless. Ji has been on these charts for quite some time, and it is BOUND TO HAPPEN that others will sell more than him. If this is just a weekly sales chart, then go 4 Minute for selling more than Ji this week considering most people bought his album/dled his songs the first month he was out. It is not a competition at this point. A competition is when two groups put out music on the same day. That is when you can say someone surpasses the other. But for someone who has been on the charts the last month it doesn't even make a difference.

my friend says I'm being defensive to GD, but I've felt this way towards ANY group. It's the same when it was 2NE1 vs 4 Minute or anyone who has been "battling" against each other really.

you're being very defensive. in fact, i think you should just calm down. the importance of these articles is that GD actually has competition. Heartbreaker came out only two or weeks or so before Muzik did. Accomplishing this feat is something big. Especially since they're a rookie girl group on a not so known company. People thought GD would just sweep all the charts and stay there for a while, but he's obviously not!

Well actually, you're making her point pretty valid. Of course people thought GD would surpass 4minute and in a way he has because he's broken SNSD's sales, reached no2 for the most sales for 2009, and it's not even the end of the year yet, has won awards already AND his album has been out for a while now and is still on the top charts. I'm not saying that 4minute suck or anything but these posts are mainly here to prove something that has obviously no importance anymore since people are rooting for both. I'm personally over this after all this time :/

the thing is that the charts do matter to certain people. its fine that you're over it. whatever, that's you. but for some fans of 4minute, it's nice to hear that they've been able to surpass someone so popular. not everyone is a gdragon fan just like not everyone is a 4minute fan, so people definitely aren't always rooting for both. so these articles can be important. its obvious that he'll sell more in the long run, but hearing that their title song has surpassed such another popular title song is big news for some people. you shouldn't just deem it unimportant because of what you think.

you should've just said 'congrats 4minute' or 'aw, GD' and have been on. this whole thread is pretty pointless. =/

at this point you're making it a gd vs 4 minute thread. that's not what I was stating. I like Muzik, it's a decent song. And you are the one being extra defensive because this is your post AND you're a 4 Minute fan. What we're trying to say, is when they can surpass Ji on the YEARLY chart, that's when you can truly boast. Like Ji fans can boast for him surpassing SNSD and everyone else within a month compared to them being on the charts for a year. That is something worth boasting about. But when it's a weekly chart, it doesn't hold much candle to anything b/c Ji's been out for longer, so it's not as big of a deal. But like I did say, good job to 4 Minute for passing up Ji this week. I'm not arguing with you, btw, I'm just stating MY opinion, and it seems others agree with it, that is all. And once again, I am NOT being Ji biased, this has always been my pov in the music industry for the last 15yrs.
