Seo Jisoo to miss LOVELYZ debut & showcase; reportedly in a state of shock and undergoing treatment.

Since November 10th, negative news about Lovelyz member Seo Jisoo has been spreading around SNS portals, and it has been decided by Woollim Entertainment that Jisoo will not participate in the group’s debut showcase today as she is currently in the hospital.

On November 12th, Woollim Entertainment announced that, “because of the series of rumors, Lovelyz’s Seo Jisoo is not in good psychological condition, to the extent that she would not be able to take part in activities. As a result, she will not be participating in Lovelyz promotional activities, including the group’s debut showcase.”

Through an interview with TV Report, the entertainment company also expressed, “Seo Jisoo is caught in such an unacceptable rumor and is suffering through it. Since morning, she has not been able to calm down, so she was admitted into the hospital,” and added, “For the sake of Seo Jisoo, she will first have to undergo psychological treatment. Until all treatment is over and until the culprit is caught, Seo Jisoo will not participate in any activities. But this does not mean that Seo Jisoo is out of Lovelyz.”

On November 11th, Woollim Entertainment released their stand on the issue, “Recently, negative comments about Seo Jisoo were spread around SNS portals. Regarding this, we say that the speculations are unfounded and we have handed it over to the Mapo police to investigate on it, hoping to find the one who posted and spread the original source.”

Lovelyz’s debut showcase will still carry on with the remaining 7 members today (November 12th) at 4pm at K-ART Hall in Olympic Park.

It's just been updated with Koreaboo's full translation (finally no summarizations or google translate *drool*) of everything considered evidence including recent things such as Jisooluv (the cafe owner and person who's been collecting evidence) explaining the controversy with fuckingjisoo and the fake evidence they used to claim they were a victim (the fake photos of the buttplug and the AV actress) AND a statement done by all of the victims in response to Woollim's statement.

Personally? My heart goes out to the victims, of course, but now I want to remain neutral and wait for either solid evidence from either sides or the police to state their findings. However, Woollim's statement pissed me off to no end.

Also...this is a mess no matter which way it turns out since the organizer of the alleged victims has come out and said that one of the alleged victims has proven to be lying about the rape allegations, butt plug, exclusive photos of Jisoo, and naked photos and further tarnishing their claims...which is also creepy...why would you try to insert yourself into this and do that to people you don't know?

The information in this case all sounds ins if suspicious and not sure if it adds up really, but trying to remain neutral till more details are released. If it is false then a lot people will feel like stupid jack asses about pushing her emotional state, while if she did then that's really sad for the victims...

Though I do feel like Korea is being especially harsh about the lesbian tape allegations because they really don't have a great opinion of gay people

this case is a mess and at this point there's no way of knowing who the victim is. it saddens me that most people took sides the second the first article came out and they're either 100% convinced that jisoo is a monster or that some crazy insinite sasaengs are behind this or something like that. why can't anyone just sit down and wait with their judgement? what i want to know is the truth, not rumours and speculations that prove literally nothing. i'd be very happy if the rumours turned out to be false (that would mean no one was abused/raped) but we can't be sure until a proper investigation is done.

I don't think it can become messier than it already is.
I hope investigation will be lead quickly and effectively. Either they'll conclude Jisoo is innocent, either they'll punish her accordingly (and being a female + having homosexual relationships will cost her a lot, if she's ever convicted).
I'm always "leaning towards" victims because of how difficult it is to accuse someone of sexual violence (especially same-sex violence in a society where being LGBT+ means discrimination) but we'll have to wait for further evidence + justice.
I'm just scared that justice won't be honoured and the powerful side (Woolim) will find a way to show accusation are false and/or pay the victims to keep silent again, while debuting its girl group (but how is the public going to react ? their image is shattered already).

Staying "neutral" doesn't mean you're not taking a side. I will always lean towards siding with victims until allegations are proven false because so many people are sexually assaulted and never have any justice because it's so hard to get people prosecuted for sexual crimes. And "staying neutral" only continues that.

A lot of the judicial system in Korea looks fiddly and unbalanced, but I've got to admit they're much more efficient with their investigations and verdicts than in my country (though of courseif it just leads to rash verdicts it's no good). I don't stay neutral with stay like this. You are guilty until I get solid proof otherwise. I will always side with the person who says they've been violated first. Especially in cases where rabid fans are concern like kpop. I'm not gonna act like idols haven't done some serious shot and their fans make up evidence to make them seem innocent. I'm the same way. False rape allegations are extremely rare and rape is under reported. Plus the added stigma of being date raped in a same sex relationship. It makes perfect sense for the victims to be reluctant to come forward and press charges.

The part I don't get is that the alleged victims are demanding that an investigation be done, but don't want to cooperate with the authorities to have one done. Woollim's statement was gross (this is what happens when you have no one with media relations training, sadly) but they have a point -- nothing will get done so long as the accusers stay anonymous online. It'll just hurt everyone in the long run.

At this point it's unclear what they want. To shame Jisoo? Already done. Revenge? Same. Actual criminal justice? That remains to be seen.

i kinda get where these girls are coming from because they are stuck in a very precarious spot if the rumors are true and the rape/ sexual assualts did happen then coming foward could destroy their lives. Korea is not good with women rape victims we see that all the time and korea is still as a whole homophobic. Even if they came to the police station as anon s and never had their identities revealed korea is also known for doxing of the victims and their entire world could again be destroyed. I think what they are hoping for is that if the police at least begin to take it seriously and to investigate they have a better chance of it coming to some sort of justice and they could live with the fact that they will be basically given a scarlet letter for the rest of their lives.
