And guys, it's going to be an album of ballads. He's always wanted to be a ballad singer, of course his solo is going to be ballads. I'm just happy SM is supporting him in this because honestly all the promotion and packaging has been just lovely thus far.
I'm so anticipating for this song and the rest. Not long now.
I'm just hoping for an upbeat ballad for one of the songs lol is that too much to wish for? :3 Please Kyu, make me happy a little (but I do love your ballads).
Yes a complete perfection!!! Though him sitting on a chair Givin me his 'late autumn' mv vibe. Whatever I still in love with his voice, hopefully not a boring ballad! Please give me some 2am-like ballads *prays*
It sounds glorious. It's already making good use of his range/registers and he sounds fantastic. It's much more exciting than what I was expecting (it's not a formulaic ballad at all), and that instrumentation is gorgeous. I can't wait for the medley and digital release...
ETA: and lmao, yes of course it's a ballad. He's wanted to be a ballad singer for a decade or so, it's the whole (confused, possibly misguided) reason he signed with SM in the first place. Plus this debut is obviously not targeting kpop fans, much less foreign ones. This is all for the Korean public.
Not just that. They announced his solo debut with the tagline 'next-generation ballad prince' and he's been networking with well-known and respected artists for years in preparation for this (like Jung Yup and Yoon Jongshin). He's put together a mini full of just him -- no features, no awkward rap breaks, nothing. No English-named title track, no 'international appeal' as far as SM seems to go with it...and a strategic autumn release with autumn-themed teaser photos. A music video that seems to have some amount of creative freedom. A solo mini concert to showcase his first release. All of this just speaks to how much thought went into this, and what the real focus is. He's not really trying to gain hallyu fans with this (though the ones he have will certainly be here to support him). He's in it for the long haul.
exactly! some of those facts are amazing it's nice to see how sm trust his talent, seems like he's in control he got his solo debut but he got it on his own terms that's the best part! :)
This is the sound I want him to go instead of jazz or R&B.
I hope one day he gonna release a cover album which is full of his fave ballad songs so I can actually keep the official version of Sung Si Kyung's songs that he covers. :3
But does anyone else get a sort of Wes Anderson vibe from the set with the tv in the teaser? Idk I might just be sleep deprived rn but that's what it seemed like to me visually
I doubt they ever would, but I'm praying they release the full version of the acappella. The acappella teaser sent chills down my spine, it was so good.
I'm gonna live off of this for months, years to come. I love the concept, love what I'm hearing, just everything. I hope he's gonna smash the charts! His chances are not too bad.
