Woollim Entertainment to take legal action against malicious rumors about Lovelyz member Seo Ji Soo

On November 9, Woollim Entertainment revealed its stance and plans for future action in the midst of malicious rumors surrounding soon-to-debut girl group Lovelyz member Seo Ji Soo.

The agency, which is preparing to debut the eight-member girl group, posted a message through its official Facebook page as follows:

“This is a notification from Woollim Entertainment.

There have been false rumors circulating regarding Lovelyz member Seo Ji Soo, so we will request a formal investigation tomorrow in order to impose punishment on those creating and distributing the rumors.

Woollim Entertainment will be taking strong legal action against these false rumors being spread just before the member’s debut. We are informing you that as long as the lawsuit is in action, there will not be any settlements.

Thank you.”

According to the post, the formal investigation is set to begin on November 10. The agency appears to have made this decision to take legal action, as there have been many posts made through online communities discussing Seo Ji Soo’s past. These posts contain a wide range of rumors from stories about her alleged ‘iljin’ (bully) past, to her intentions of joining Woollim Entertainment in order to seduce members of agency senior group INFINITE, to allegations about her sexuality.

SUMMARIZED: Woollim denied all of the rumors going around and threatened legal action but there are several accounts online of pre-debut Seo Jisoo talking sexually about several idols as well as dating several girls and spreading pictures she took of them naked. The following is just a summary of what's being said. The only "proof" that people provided are alleged selcas that Seo Jisoo only sent them and don't exist anywhere else on the internet as well as pictures of Woollim training centers that she sent the people she dated.

A popular online activity among Korean teens is roleplaying as celebrities on SNS like Kakao Story. Around 2012, she roleplayed as INFINITE/EXO members and said sexual things like "I want to rape Do Kyungsoo", "I wonder what color ***'s dick is", "I want to sleep with L", "I want to rape Kyungsoo till he bleeds". She was also involved with date rape, school violence, and animal abuse.

Regarding the girls she dated, she had allegedly forced them into sleeping with her and took pictures of them naked to show them to her friends. She also outed one of her ex-girlfriends on her college's homepage. All of these accounts were posted on roleplaying cafes that she frequented by the people she roleplayed with and dated.

One of the girls she dated posted: "The reason I'm posting this is because I dated her in 2011 and we broke up because of internal issues. We started dating again in 2012 until I found out that she had spread pictures of my body."

In the original Instiz post, you can find Kakao Talk pictures of an adult toy that Seo Jisoo had bought one of her exes as well.

Another post by her ex: "She took a hidden camera video of us having sex and spread it to the company that I was working for. Rumors of me being a slut began spreading even though I was simply making love to someone I had loved. The video was taken without me knowing. Now I am scared of dating anyone and for a while I couldn't even leave my house. I quit working for my company and lied to my parents. I even tried to commit suicide. The only thing that I want now is for Jisoo to not be happy. I don't want her being forgiven for all of her crimes with her debut after ruining someone else's life. I am including pictures that Seo Jisoo personally sent me of pictures inside her company."

It's not like I would've recorded anything back then. I obviously liked her then so I stayed quiet."

I remember she'd show me her breasts and ask if it made me horny. A former Woollim trainee provided proof of Seo Jisoo's 2013 winter Kakao Talk profile and phone number along with a picture she took while training with her in Woollim. She confirmed that while Seo Jisoo was dating a male from her dance academy, she was also dating one of the victims above. Woollim apparently knew about this but let it go while other trainees who were found to have boyfriends were cut.

The victim who provided all of the first release of proof pictures (personal selcas, Woollim training pictures) also provided Seo Jisoo's number as proof that aligned with the number provided by the Woollim trainee (last four digits 9411).

Around September 2012, one of Seo Jisoo's exgirlfriends posted on a cafe claiming to have dated her and that she had bit her finger while sleeping. Being a pianist, she claimed that the act was not only perverted but damaging to her.

Woollim and Seo Jisoo apparently threatened to sue her and demanded that she stop posting about her on the cafe. The person provided the Kakao Talk conversation that Seo Jisoo sent her threatening to sue her and demanding to know her current address unless she denied the story.

She claimed that Woollim demanded that she never talk about this again and revealed that Woollim knew about Seo Jisoo's rumors but that they were extremely fond of her and kept her from leaving the company three times. Seo Jisoo was also apparently extremely manipulate, lying to the company that she was being bullied by the other trainees and crying whenever her rumors were brought up.

The same person provided the following additional account to the cafe owner in a Kakao Talk conversation:

"I met with Jisoo and someone else and slept together in a motel. She, of course, said many sexual things, but the things going around now were said in a group conversation. At the motel, she said things like 'I'm a virgin so take my virginity' and asked me to massage her thighs after she came out in just a gown from the shower. She let her shower gown spread open to expose her breasts and later left with the third person to her house.

She'd always say things like 'Fuck me, I'm a virgin' or 'I'm not a virgin in the ass' and she'd always send us pictures of her adult toys. I have a picture she sent me of her in a thong but I don't have it anymore. Anyway, I contacted you because I'm not a victim but I thought my story would help..."

She provided a picture she took with Seo Jisoo at a cafe as her proof.

Hello this is Jisooluv,
The reason I’m writing a new post is because the previous posts were very lacking in evidence and people were becoming suspicious of its credibility. Woollim also has been treating this incident as nothing but a rumor, so I’m rewriting to state my actual opinion on things.
I’m sorry that my feedback has been very late, and through this post I wish to express my perspective on a certain girl group member that is a very hot issue since controversy about her broke out on Twitter and other communities on November 9th, 2014.

To ensure the messages are clear let me state things one more time, everything in this post is based on a private community (will be mentioned as # community from now) where Seo Jisoo and the victims met. The victims who have been directly affected by her are three, including me (will be called A, B and C from now). Person D, who had previously been framed of sexual assault by Jisoo, has helped us as a witness. All things are based on evidence all four of us have.

The Twitter account “FuckingJisoo” and TikToc account “Protected Nickname” have been proven to be simply liars, and I stress again, are NOT the same person as me and are not included in the list of victims.

# community is a community where “Member play” happens. The community consists of both straight and gay users. This means that the cafe is not only for gay users, and my posts as well as others opinions, have already shows that Jisoo is not of homosexual persuasion.

Since it is a private community and due to the fact that many users could be unwillingly outed, I will not reveal further information about the community.

2. About “FuckingJisoo” and “Protected Nickname” and their use of fake photos.
“FuckingJisoo” approached me saying that she/he was also a victim to Jisoo, and I included the photos the person sent me among the list of evidence, and posted it on twitter. I admit I am at fault for not making sure that the photos were real before I shared them.

The photos “FuckingJisoo” posted through his/her Twitter account (butt plug picture) went viral online and quickly became the biggest incident related to Jisoo. From what I understand, “FuckingJisoo” did not clearly state the picture was of him/her when updating the pictures.While this was happening, a person nicknamed “Protected Nickname” approached me through TikToc, and claimed that she was the owner of the butt on Twitter. She sent me other pictures that are not under suspicion of being fake. Below is the capture of the conversation I had with “Protected Nickname” Editors Note: User attaches old screenshot translated above, please read Attachment #12, #13. At this point “FuckingJisoo” shared pictures of a nude girl lying in bed and a person with the nickname “Jagiya (Honey)” approached me on TicToc (This is victim A). She claimed that the nude pictures were of her. Below is the screenshot of the conversation between me and A. (Editor Note: This is a message from the blog owner)

After I received this message from victim A, I uploaded this on Twitter and a comment said I should contact an investigative show on SBS. I contacted “Protected Nickname” because I considered her one of the most detrimentally effected, but she had left the conversation and deleted her account. During that time, I was contacted and told that those pictures by “Protected Nickname” could be found on Google, and they were found to be wrongly used. “FuckingJisoo”‘s Twitter account was also blocked.

I told Victim A that the pictures she had said were her own were of an AV actress, and Victim A stated she had gotten confused because she looked very similar to herself. After checking Victim A’s selcas I could understand the confusion. Victim A also claimed that she had pictures of her and Jisoo performing acts of skinship, and an audio file of Jisoo trying to talk her into phone sex. Below is a conversation between me and Victim A.

After confirming the situation above I could only conclude that “FuckingJisoo” was just an attention whore trying to feed the fire on the controversy. I also believe that “Protected Nickname” and “FuckingJisoo” might be the same individual.

Considering the gravity of the situation I admit I should have been more thorough in collecting evidence, but I was not of the mind to check every little detail and I apologize. No one has since claimed to be the victim of the butt plug incident, and it is hard to confirm whether that specific rumor is true or not.

I once again apologize for this confusion, but I plead that people understand we also received damage to the credibility of our statements. I also wish for the liar to receive justice, and if we are contacted by “FuckingJisoo” in the future, plan to take legal action.

I also would like to say although the butt plug incident turned out to be false, there are victims who were outed unwillingly and who were sexually harassed by Jisoo. I will elaborate on this below.

Even though the incident about the butt plug turned out to be false, it doesn’t change the fact that we were directly victimized by Seo Jisoo. The fact that she released nude pictures, that we were hospitalized for mental trauma because of her. Nothing changes. Please don’t consider this and focus on these as “Rumors”

Jisoo who is not even homosexual dated girls on the side while she had a boyfriend, sexually harassed girls, and even forcefully revealed her ex’s sexual identity to the public.

Normal people don’t break up by releasing nude pictures of their past lovers. They don’t try to mess up someone else’s life. There was not even animosity between her and Victim A who lost her job. Jisoo just did these things for pure personal enjoyment. Do you think this is normal?

Among us, there are those who still go to hospitals for psychotherapy, those who lost their lives because of Jisoo, and those who even tried to take their own lives. There are also those who risk their identities being revealed to help us gather evidence and stand witness.

Even though the victims’ voices are this loud, Jisoo’s agency is trying to put us off as simple rumors. I want to ask until when they plan on protecting Seo Jisoo.

Did you say not to act like victims? Not to threaten online? Reveal ourselves if we are being truthful?

Yes. Since Woollim doesn’t seem satisfied with the evidence, we will grow our voice. We still have more evidence and witnesses. I want to tell you, we are not trying to fight the giant company that Jisoo has behind her back, we just wish not to see Jisoo as a “celebrity” in the public media when she was the cause of so much pain for so many people.

Do you really think this is just a girl becoming victimized pre-debut? Us minorities were ridiculed and were subject to unnecessary harassment because of this girl. Do we not have rights? Are we not people? Does Woollim truly agree to this?

We are not victimizing ourselves using the fact that it is hard to reveal ourselves due to our sexual nature. We were victimized because we are sexual minorities by Jisoo. She used the fact that we wouldn’t be able to act rashly because of our nature. Society doesn’t look upon us with favor, so we don’t have much power. The louder we speak the bigger the stone that is thrown at us. Don’t you think Jisoo was trying to use these things?

We want a proper investigation. Don’t try to swat the public saying you have requested an investigation. We will not be scared off.
These things aren’t just rumors, we are the voice of truth.

We are someone’s daughter, friend, someone’s younger sister and someone’s colleague. I plead that Woollim make the right judgement and that they don’t turn this into a mud fight.

Do not put this off as a rumor and try to sway the public making such public threats with supposed investigations but I wish they would contact us and try to solve these things directly.

I don't know what to believe. But I'm siding with the victim and I hope she has the help she needs, that's something terrible to deal with.
It's sad for the six other members who haven't even debuted but as for Jisoo... If this is true, then she needs to face justice. It's criminal. She can't go on as if nothing happens. How can the company defend her ?
