BIG BANG - 927,000 with 29 shows
#41 D-LITE (Daesung) - 169,000 with 15 shows

1. [+815, -87]  That's enough for Japan.  Come back to Korea ㅠㅠ

2. [+676, -129]  Wow... as expected, Big Bang is Big Bang... their class...

3. [+542, -84]  24/7 my eternal heaven!  24/7 my only heaven!

4. [+522, -75]  TOP is so attractive

5. [+467, -88]  Big Bang's the best

6. [+94, -17]  There's no problem with YG's song qualities or talent.  The problem is that they barely have any domestic promotions and only focus on overseas promotions such as in Japan or China.  It seems like you have to wait at least three years for every Big Bang or 2NE1 comeback here at home
in Korea.  It'll probably be the same for Winner and Ikon, huh?  Sigh

7. [+96, -33]  It's going to be hard to find another group like Big Bang... they're stylish and they always bring something new to the table with their music.  They're a group that had a fresh concept from the very start... To start they've got TOP, Taeyang, and GD in one team... what more do I need to explain ㅋㅋ

8. [+72, -13]  Now I'm just pissed off ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Of course it's an honour to be able to stand on a stage and bring in that amount of audience.  The first and second time it's definitely an honour... but they haven't had a Korean comeback in so long.  Now, the Korean fans waiting will only get mad when they hear about all their accomplishments there in Japan.

9. [+67, -9]  Are they really Korean artists?  They don't promote in Korea

10. [+70, -12]  As their ages are getting closer to 30, they have to start thinking about enlistment some time soon.... but before that, please promote a lot here in Korea ㅠㅠㅠ

Don't AKB hold really small concerts at their own little venue like every day or something or am I remembering it wrong.

Yeah, that's right, AKB48's daily performances are in their small theatre.

Wow @ them being above freaking Arashi and SMAP. HSJ @ 19 tho. They're still like the ugly stepchild of JE :/

Well, to be fair, Arashi celebrated their 15th Anniversary with a concert in Hawaii. I'm pretty sure if it would have been held in Japan, Arashi would be higher (maybe even #1). But I guess because the concert wasn't held in Japan, they didn't count those visitors.

Ah, that's right! Also, they had 209 movie theaters in Japan for the live viewing of the anniversary concert for fans who could not go to Hawaii. But I guess those are not counted. Oh well, ahaha...

They did way more shows than smap or arashi though

And just be glad Hsj is on here. News is the uglier step child right now. Being their fan sucks lol.

I think it's also partly because Arashi holds less number of concerts in a year compared to Big Bang. if they held the same number of times as BB, I think Arashi would rank #1.

True. Idrc about the members because most of them are assholes, but they're really good performers. I loved their London show.

KINGS

i mean this is no surprise, their concerts are like 35-50k each and they've had like 30 this year.

EXILE TRIBE is a Japanese boy band that is part/group that is associated with EXILE. EXILE has like a lot of members. Could be considered like the male AKB48.

that gif.... so fantastic...
also why are the netizens so pressed? it's not like they've been putting out any new music in Japan either (sans Daesung but it doesn't seem like they care about that...) and i'm fairly certain their yearly obligatory concert round in Korea is coming up. Course when that happens they'll be pissed that they don't have any music then yet either.

The rest of their concerts for the year are all dome tours

Truthfully, I'm really surprised that I don't see the GazettE on that list at all, unless these are only pop act audience numbers this year? 'cause they bring in HUGE audiences and fill massive arenas to the brim with fans.

Date: 2014-11-08 12:40 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] milkshake.livejournal.com
They don't do Dome concerts though. Tokyo Dome holds 55,000 people.

Date: 2014-11-08 08:19 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] adlyeith.livejournal.com
Ahh, this total is only for dome concerts? So specific lol

Date: 2014-11-09 02:43 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] milkshake.livejournal.com
no, I don't think it is. What I'm saying is that Dome concerts bring more people because their capacity is larger. Gazette don't do Dome concerts so to get those large numbers they'd have to perform more.

Date: 2014-11-09 03:43 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] adlyeith.livejournal.com
Ahh, that's certainly true. Most of their performances tend to be at livehouses or smaller venues, but they usually pack quite a number of performances in to a tour, which is why I was surprised. Aside from all of that, they also did multiple, smaller, tours this year, which is also where my surprise came from :3

If I lived in Japan I'd be right there at the dome tour too...even with no new music

now if only arashi would stop performing at only 5 domes....

Imagine if they actually had new music to promote!

From: [identity profile] maishi-obuki.livejournal.com
Every "scandal" pushes a Korean promo back by like six months

BUT since they are Big Bang, NO scandal can actually keep them from fully promoting. They should just go ahead and do a full S.korean promo and album/mini-album. NO PD would ban Big Bang.

I think GD is just going through some kind of writer's block and nobody else in Big Bang (I'm looking at you T.O.P!) is willing to take any pressure away from him by writing songs for Big Bang.

Date: 2014-11-08 12:13 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] maishi-obuki.livejournal.com
Maybe.

But I do remember a few years ago when BB was supposed to comeback, but Dae has his scandal. They had stuff prepared, but pushed it back almost a year. They even talked about it.

GD has been the lyrical force behind BB the entire time, I hope he doesn't feel burnt out because he is also a producer for YG so he's supposed to help the new girl group. He writes BB, his solos, helps with his group members solo works. At least Teddy had retired from performing while he was producing 2ne1.

YG and big Bang getting that money! They are great performers and with Daesung and SeungRi as MCs they also do all sorts of crazy antics between the songs in Japan, so no wonder people go to see them. Although I do worry about a bit of their soon starting new dome tour as at least according to Big Bang's Japanese homepage none of the dates have sold out yet (YGEX usually marks if the show has been sold out). I wonder if they added extra dates too early as they added them before tickets were on sale for any of the concert dates? I feel that in this kind of situations Big Bang would really need Seungri badly as in the past he was always all over Japanese media pimping Big Bang's upcoming tours.

Winner and iKON will need to start hustling hard in Japan so that they will be on the level to hold at least joint dome tour with each other when Big Bang is in the army.

I didn't know they had THAT many shows in Japan. I'm surprised because ... well, they're Korean, so they have to travel a lot more than domestic artists in order to put on those shows, it just seems to me the logistics of holding so many shows would be harder?

The number of concerts from EXILE TRIBE + Sandaime J Soul Brothers doesn't surprise me because dance/performance is their Thing so they'd put on a lot of shows.

No amount of kpop shit would change what how much bigbang meant to my teenage self. Them, The Gazette and Epik High give me so much greatest moments.

what's the number beside number of people means? my guess is that its the amount of performances held? in that case, the result is obviously different lol
