G-Dragon vs. Taeyang?

G-Dragon and Taeyang--YG Family's finest. One boasts an eclectic style with a hip-hop flair, while the other will melt your heart with his smooth and soulful beats. Both spent the latter half of their childhoods training under YG Entertainment, and through exceptional hard work and dedication, became recognized for their talents through the debut of their group Big Bang back in 2006. Through all the blood, sweat, and tears, these two artists made it. G-Dragon and Taeyang, who took the path to stardom together, may very well end up going head to head this upcoming November.
G-Dragon, who released his debut solo album Heartbreaker in August, will be promoting his album until November. Taeyang's second solo album, originally reported to be scheduled for an October release date, will most likely be postponed until November. This means that the promotional periods for G-Dragon and Taeyang's albums will overlap in the month of November.
According to company president YG, “With the recent release of his album, G-Dragon will promote every other week instead of doing a lot of broadcastings. Fans are really interested in all the tracks off his album, not just the ones that he is promoting. Taeyang may release his album in late November, so he and G-Dragon will probably promote their solo activities at the same time."
In addition, fans have been wondering whether G-Dragon and Taeyang will perform a special stage together for their song Korean Dream off G-Dragon's album. YG explained that because the two of them will be promoting their solo projects at the same time, "it's possible that they will come together to perform 'Korean Dream.'”
Although a showdown between these two old friends seems inevitable, at least fans can look forward to a possible joint stage featuring a fusion of both artists' talents. But whether it's on or off the stage, solo or group activity, G-Dragon and Taeyang will, without a doubt, always be supporting one another.

Date: 2009-09-08 11:22 am (UTC)Tae may have a better vocal than GD but I feel that his music is going to again be the standard R&B fare we heard on Hot. While that was still quite good, it won't be anything ~*different*~ which is one of the reasons why I like GDs so much... but Tae will probably promote a sweet club banger or something and I can't see GD promoting Heartbreaker all the way through until November and I don't know which song would be a good followup. I'm biased towards GD, but it's impossible for me to make any guesses on who would do better until I've heard some of Tae's new stuff.
