Kangnam Shares What Makes Him Different from Jackson and Henry

Currently rising in popularity, M.I.B’s Kangnam was interviewed by star style magazine @star1, where he honestly answered each question with much thought.

Despite his variety program appearance giving him more attention from the public, Kangnam said the M.IB members are probably not jealous at all. “They don’t have much greed for appearing on TV, so they’re probably not jealous. More than broadcasts, they’re the type of people who’ll pour more affection towards music. I don’t see them often these days, but they’re probably not jealous.”

On being born between a Japanese father, and a Korean mother, Kangnam answered, “When I was young, I grew up with Korean. Maybe it’s because I watched a lot of Korean dramas, but I’m used to listening to it. So I don’t think Korea as a foreign country. Japan and Korea alike are hometowns to me, so more than me having more love for Korea, the thought that Korea is my country is strong.”

When asked about the personal charms that make him stand out amongst the current rise of variety-dols, especially GOT7’s Jackson and Super Junior-M’s Henry, Kangnam answered, “I’m a Korean person. I don’t think of myself as a foreigner. I might have been born in Japan, but I have Korean blood in me and I’ve come to Korea often as a kid, so Korea isn’t foreign to me at all. Including my mind, everything about me is a Korean person. I’m surprised at myself sometimes too.”

Choosing one foreign variety-dol that he’s had his eye on, Kangnam said Henry. “He’s very witty and full of sense that I want to have variety skills like him.”

Kangnam also added that he’s willing to appear on any variety programs that call for him, including MBC’s Infinity Challenge and SBS’ Running Man. “I don’t have kids, but if the opportunity allows me, I want to appear on MBC’s Dad! Where Are We Going?. It’s my favorite show.”

I'm glad he's getting some shine. I haven't watched anything he's been on lately because no one seems to be eng subbing it. Hopefully, he can do what a lot of other individuals have done in variety to boost the popularity of their own groups.

M.I.B deserves more attention. They put out such solid albums. Their first album is still so fantastic to me.

Aww this is so cute. I hope his new found fame helps the group out when they finally make a comeback, and that people will actually check out their past music 🙌🙌🙌
