Oh, look: JYP ranks first in netizen poll on artist negligence

In a recent poll that took place from October 21st to October 28th on community site DC Inside, netizens voted on which entertainment companies were most negligent towards their artists.

In the poll, JYP, YG and SM Entertainment ranked in the highest three as to which companies netizens felt needed the most improvement in their management skills.

JYP Entertainment took first place with 28.6%, reflecting the agency’s center of controversy when 2PM member Taecyeon complained about the companies inner workings to the public, revealing that they needed to work harder on promoting employees within the company and rewarding those who deserve it.

YG Entertainment was 2nd place with 25% of the votes, with the general public feeling the company should keep a “tighter leash” on its artists after several controversies. BIGBANG member Seungri was involved in a car crash, G-Dragon was spotted multiple times with controversial rumored girlfriend, Kiko Mizuhara, and 2NE1‘s Park Bom in a prescription drug controversy.

SM Entertainment closed the “big 3″ with 17.4% of the votes, after a seriously devastating year for the company with the departure of their artists, Kris and Luhan from EXO-M, and Jessica being removed from Girls’ Generation. Netizens commented that they had lost their faith in SM Entertainment’s ability to take care of their individual members.

When you've liked a group by Stardumb then you'll see true third rate management.

Though JYP is a mess because Miss A has been left to rot because they can't schedule Suzy properly thus giving her time to participate in a comeback.

Like I said somewhere else, I only disagree with one statement: miss A not making a comeback because of Suzy schedule. They didn't make a comeback in the whole year, specially when Suzy didn't have any movie or drama, because JYPE has one hella fucking stupid management of miss A, like everybody knows. Suzy was busy with her solo stuff yeah, but Jia, who recently finished filming a movie, and specially Fei were appearing in more broadcast stuff than her all year long, so Suzy's schedule really isn't the one to blame.

There is a lot to be said about how JYP needs to get more artists out often - where was Miss A or Baek A Yeon this year? - but at least all of their artists seem content and nobody is SUING TO LEAVE

I don't see how that's negligence that GD is having a "dating scandal". But with that logic, SMe should be on the top, what with half of SNSD officially dating. lol

At least, JYP groups haven't sued their company, so I would say SMe should get the title of most neglectful company among the big three.

Out of the Big 3, I feel like they should be 3rd. JYP's handling of Miss A is bad, but they have been good with Got7.

YGE stocks have gone up +17.60% in a year and their market cap is now 681,799.77(M KRW); while SME stocks have gone down -29.60% and their market cap is now 584,345.87 (M KRW) those numbers should already tell which company has better management here. Also no artist has ever sued YG unlike SM (numerous artists) or members been kicked (Jessica) out from the group. Also YG hasn't built all goody two shoes image for their artists, so scandals don't really hurt YG artists as much as SM's. (Just see Big Bang's success in 2012 after them having been hit with numerous scandals or that GD didn't even lose any endorsements after his weed smoking incident surfaced.) Also compare the results of Winner's and Red Velvet's debuts.

Lol at jellyfish being here. They're not perfect but they're doing an a+ job with vixx' career progression and their concepts are great. Their fanagement leaves a lot to be desired i admit.

I'm kind of new to vixx, but I think their progression is going pretty well too, especially considering that they're not from a huge company (like exo). they're climbing slowly, but consistently.

Idk about jellyfish fan management problems, but I think all of these agencies are shit in this aspect.

The only of the top three I agree with is YG, but not for those reasons. But netizens love beating the Park Bom Scandal dead horse until the bones are powder. And GD wanting to have a life and a girlfriend, or any artist really, shouldn't be a scandal.

JYP and SM should be flipped places. I do not even begin to understand why netizens are willing to defend SM so much.

Seeing the result of the poll and my basic knowledge of english I had to look if 'negligence' meant what I thought, and it does.
This is getting me more mad that I would like to. Maybe is my love for JYP Nation, and as a result don't want it that the artists feel like they made the wrong choice auditioning for JYP Ent. I remember when there was a rivalry between Lee Hi and 15& (pretty much all made up by the reporters) and it look like they wanted to make Jimin to thought she made a bad decision about signing with JYP. Then, is one I started to get really protective about all this. And look! Now the poor Lee Hi is in the basement too.
It's funny how I like much more YG music but I can't get into them as a fan because almost all the time that "swag" annoys me to no end.

jype may suck at promoting their acts but at least they have a healthier working environment than all the companies above, where their idols may get frustrated with the management/promoting part of their careers, but they seem happy with the company otherwise as they are free to live their lives.
