She sounded great but looked tired. I don't remember the last time I saw her like this, since most of the time she's ultra energetic, so I hope she gets to rest at least a little before her next solo venture.

It didn't do anything for me when I watched her performance, I empathized with the crowd lol BUT am listening to it now and it's actually kind of okay. She sang her parts well but her rap is still lost on me. I can only understand the end parts like pretties love me, diamonds and pearls and hold my purse. I expected something more. I mean it's CL with Diplo. If anything, this makes me miss 2NE1 more.

UGH this performance.

CL's vocals were on point! I didn't like the beginning, but when she started singing, yassss! The crowd was such a bore. They could've given her SOME KIND OF FEEDBACK. I would rather here a boo than nothing. It's the worst! Read the comments and I didn't know that much about Diplo, but dang. It sucks, because what I've heard from him, I liked. I know like...maybe three songs tops (three is already a stretch), but if you're jocking off of POC (which let's face it - most people do; there is NO surprise there) then that already makes not care for you.

CL is usually energetic on stage. She's all over the place and in control and I feel that this just wasn't it. I think it was partly because the audience wasn't giving her any feedback and the set was semi-wack (IMO). The best part was CL singing.

I just hope she slays her solo debut here in the states and most importantly she a) gets enough rest and prepares herself for the move (if she will be living here awhile, which she should if she really wants to get her name out there), b) figure out what she wants her sound to be. Being honest, I feel like this performance wasn't even CL. It was so lackluster. She looked great and sounded great (singing wise), but she's an entertainer. This wasn't it. So does she want to continue to keep this up or what? I remember in one of the posts here announcing her solo debut, I stated that what works in Korea won't work here in the states and I still stand by that comment. But, there are certain things that anyone has to have. She's an entertainer. She KNOWS how to entertain and she's good at it.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I don't want her to lose herself in the process of all of this. This felt more like a Diplo performance when it should've have been the other way around or seen as more of a collaboration.

it's usually the job of the performer to pump up the crowd, if the crowd is dead then 99% of the time the live performance didn't cut it

this whole award was strange, especially how much the winners had to walk.
this performance would be a lot more fun if it was, idk, in a club.

I like diplo's tracks and he has good connections so I think CL can take advantage of this a lot.
just hoping for her to rest and prepare well because US won't be easy.

She slayed me. Too bad MTBD was too short, but her vocals were so amazing for Revolution and I can't help but get hyped af during Dirty Vibe...that part gives me life....Audience deserved all the mediocrity they got before and after that performance...Diplo's reaction after the performance is basically what I feel when it comes to that audience...

I knew something was going to go wrong when she didn't have her usual crazy swag energy that she usually exudes during mtbd and absolutely ZERO CL-signature hard af choreo

and then you could see the moment of sheer terror, like that moment where she and Diplo realized that no one's really responding to her music whatsoever like there are some whoops and cheers but nobody applauds and everyone was basically silent.

But if that's some previews of the stuff she's releasing, putting my BlackJack card to the side, I think she'll get rave reviews and SOME airplay but people won't exactly go PSY-style nuts over it.

I think the only thing I enjoyed about that performance was the "Dirty Vibe" rap. If she spit like that, CL maybe on to something lol. But she really looked nervous. So I guess Diplo will play a part in her transition?

she looks great. she sounded great. she was everything in the mbtd. but after that where is the cl that we all know? she's so charismatic when she's on stage and has great stage presence but this was just her looking like some ellie goulding clone who's trying to be twee/awkward on stage. i just can't with the constant hair adjusting.

maybe it's nervousness. maybe it's the lack of audience feedback. maybe it's the use of a mic stand. whatever it is, i hope the visual aspect of her performances when she promotes in the u.s. will be more dynamic than what she presented for dirty vibe.

So I just watched through the show and turns out that the grand majority of that rude as fuck audience was G.O.D fans, and G.O.D didn't even perform, but just got an award. *facepalm* I guess that fandom's behavior level hasn't grown up at all since 2005 'cause in the past you were only supposed to cheer for your own group while that has gradually changed more respectful manner especially for second generation idol fans (maybe 'cause black ocean stuff).

The audience was weak. Honestly you can only do so much but when the crowd is dead, it can and will affect you. CL was alright. She seemed shook. Probably setting in that she is about to go solo and can't rely on 2ne1 safety net. She needs to get used to be on stage alone in my opinion.
If Diplo helps her musically then she has something I guess (I don't know or care for him musically, outside of one song, so I can't speak for or against him).
I wouldn't give this performance a lot...maybe a C.She wasn't fully there, and the crowd was weak, and the remix to MTBD was eh.

I don't think she has a problem being solo. She has been rocking solo stages since 2009 with bigger crowd than this. She can only do so much when the crowd is barely responding to her.


And I thought she did well lmao. Her vocals on point for Revolution and with her outfit I wasn't expecting her to drop it low or anything like that.
