M.I.B Kangnam Doesn’t Want to Release an Album Immediately Just Because He’s Popular

Just a month ago, M.I.B’s Kangnam was struggling to get by with no schedules, but with one fateful appearance on a variety show, Kangnam’s popularity soared with more and more people recognizing him.

With that popularity, Kangnam recently shot a pictorial with fashion magazine CeCi, where he shared his sentiments on the sudden popularity as a new a variety star. Even on the set of the shoot, many staff members and an entertainment news crew appeared to capture Kangnam’s every move.

“Honestly, there are a lot of people so I don’t know what I think about this situation where people come searching for me. Because I’m being cast in more things than ever, I feel the need to thank someone, but I don’t exactly know who to thank, so I’m a little dazed.”

“I was actually preparing for an album that’s scheduled to come out sometime next year. People say right now is the perfect time to release an album while I’m being spotlighted in variety, but I don’t like the mindset that I have to release music because I got popular in variety, so we’re postponing it a bit,” said Kangnam.



But regardless of his variety program fame, Kangnam plans on staying rooted as an artist.

“After Heo Ji Woong hyung told me that I mustn’t give up on music and that I must do music, my thoughts changed a lot,” explained Kangnam. “After meeting him, I got an artistic mind that says I must keep making something out of what I’m thinking about.”

Aww I was hoping for a comeback this year because then I would have more opportunities to see them (do a schedule in Seoul sometimes pleaseee) but good for integrity I guess? Although from a business standpoint it would be smarter to release an album now, but when has MIB ever really done anything the typical music industry way
