When big money is at stake, to what levels will people stoop to win it all? Because of varied circumstances, both Nam Da Jung (Kim So Eun), a naïve and honest college student, and Cha Woo Jin (Lee Sang Yoon), a former psychology professor at Seoul National University and genius swindler, become contestants on the “Liar Game” reality show, which is billed as a “psychological survival game.” Contestants are expected to lie, cheat and use whatever means possible to emerge victorious and walk away with the coveted ₩10 billion. Hosted by the devious MC, Kang Do Young (Shin Sung Rok), with the help of his trusty PD, Lee Yoon Joo (Cha Soo Yeon), the reality show pushes its participants to the edge of morality and beyond. Who will emerge to win it all?

Kim So Eun and Lee Sang Yoon Talk Loveline in Drama ‘Liar Game’




Lee Sang Yoon and Kim So Eun showed their confidence on their chemistry.

During the press conference for tvN’s upcoming drama Liar Game, which took place on October 13 in Imperial Palace Hotel, Seoul, Lee Sang Yoon started, “There is no obvious love line (with Kim So Eun).”

He explained, “Instead of a heart-fluttering romance, we’ve been trying to portray a subtle romance between a ‘daddy long legs’ and a good girl. We’re trying to show delicate feelings. Even if we don’t see it on the scripts, if there are parts where we can show those emotions, we show them. We’ll show the stage before people actually start dating.”

Kim So Eun also shared, “I’m compatible with Sang Yoon oppa. I think I was the one who treated him more comfortably without being shy. I think that’s why our ‘chemistry’ is well portrayed. I’m sad that there won’t be romance but I think it’ll come out well.”

Then Lee Sang Yoon jokingly said, “So Eun has romance in a variety program on another channel so she brings those feelings over,” causing a round of laughter.

Liar Game is based on the Japanese comic series of the same title written by Shinobu Kaitani. It will depict the story of an innocent college girl and a young psychology professor and a former con artist, who participate in the reality show called ‘Liar Game,’ where the one who succeeds in tricking the other wins the game. It is set to air on October 20.

Damn, OP you were faster than me.

Well, I liked it though I tried to stay unbiased while watching I like the "fake" reality tv show format. But I guess put Kim So Eun in any drama and I'll watch it b/c damn she's so talented and cute and deserves more time to shine. I also like the fact that the loan shark ahjussi isn't one of those stereotypical loan sharks, he actually really cares for her like a surrogate dad.
Shin Sung Rok continues to slay as a host and he looks hella fine in those suits. Someone needs to give him a lead role.
I never saw Lee Sang Yoon in any drama prior to this but I liked him, though living up to Matsuda Shota's performance is gonna be hard.

ot: I haven't watched Tomorrow Cantabile yet but everyone's saying that tvn's remake is way better than what Group 8 did.

that loan shark guy played a hilarious character in one tvn drama, monstar. i smiled super widely the moment i saw it ^^
tvn's remake of taiwanese drama earlier this year was awesome and imho they know how to make it work
no comments at group 8, they should disappear and never make dramas again

this and misaeng are at the top of my current drama list. i am beyond intrigued! i have no idea of the original drama or manga, so i can't comment on any difference or whatever, but this version alone has got me on the edge of my seat and i can't wait for more.

at the beginning i thought i was going to be annoyed at kim so eun's character's naiveté and her too nice attitude, but immediately got over it after the first ep, and see that it's her charm while everyone else is cunning.

and no romance?! but that chemistry tho!

japanese drama had no romance either, just hints and i find it way better than obvious love plot. i loved the last scene in first movie where they were supposed to bid farewell to each other but the dialogue turned tables :)

My young self keep hoping for a loveline between the two (haha!) but it never came. I'm disappointed while happy at the same time.. :O
