I would love more beauty type posts on Omona, especially about new products/trends from Korea…
At the moment I am pretty obsessed with 3CE lip lacquers and TonyMoly tints. I also love k-sincare.

What are you current faves?

I LOVE VDL lip cubes!!!!
(review here http://www.thebeautywolf.com/vdl-expert-color-lip-cube-moisture-review/ )

I also loved the Etude Play 101 pencils, they're so versatile

And I'm all about fermented ingredients in skincare right now.

i saw that! been debating whether to get the new one of the old one. they're both so appealing, like i've never seen lip products shaped like that in asian or western makeup. actually want to try some more VDL products in general. like their metal bb cushion and their real skin foundation. shame there's so little talk about the brand in intl sites cuz i really want to read some reviews before buying

edit: just saw below that you're beautywolf. love your blog!

On the topic of lip products, I freaking love my Missha Aqua Gel tint. I bought it off Ebay in kind of a spur of the moment thing (auctions... they do that to me) and wasn't expecting much but its super hydrating and awesome.

I'm also loving bronze eyeliners.

On skincare, I use a lot of Benton. My mom's hooked too.

I just got this badass box of stuff from Peach and Lily that was full of random crap. I really like the Triple Bright White Bloom Floral Cream from CremorLab, which has evened out some of the hyperpigmentation I have from stupid adult-onset acne, and also it makes my face dewy-shiny but not greasy? And it smells awesome. Also the Be the Skin Non-Stimulus Face Polish is a gr8, cheaper alternative to the Peter Thomas Roth FirmX Peeling Gel (it's like half the cost). Banila Co. also makes this stuff, Clean It Zero, which is a makeup remover "sherbet" and it is great - slightly more effective than coconut oil and easier to handle, and definitely more effective than the Innisfree oil I was using before.

But overall, the brand that I stan most and simultaneously the one that I cannot afford, is Sulwhasoo. I started using their cleansing foam about a month ago after I picked some up from H-Mart and explained to the lady what my problem issues were with my skin. She threw in some samples when she sold it to me, of the Essential Balancing Water (THE BEST TONER I HAVE EVER USED), as well as the Essential Balancing Emulsion and the Essential Firming Cream (THE BEST MOISTURIZER I'VE EVER USED) and my skin has never been so awesome. The cleanser is KIND OF affordable, at $36 but the toner is $55 and the moisturizer is like $100 so idk I guess I'm gonna have to keep trying to get samples or something, but seriously it's the best skin stuff I've ever used.

As far as makeup goes, I have the Misscha Perfect Cover #23 and I like it for a bb cream, but I've been trying to move away from foundations as a whole, and lately have been applying sunblock (purchased from Innisfree...you can tell i just got back from seoul looking at my skincare shit), and then using the Misscha Signature Extreme coverup (which comes w a pretty great brush imo), since I am getting ~older~ and can tell when bb cream starts to settle into fine lines versus just having a naked face which makes me look more youthful imo.

100 bucks for a moisturizer is ridiculous

that is definitely on the moderate end of moisturizer prices, though, sadly. I mean I could drop $400 on a tub of it from the same brand if I were rich and inclined, haha.

I've been hearing a lot of things about Sulwhasoo, esp their overnight vitalizing mask and their ginseng cream, might have to buy some samples and try them out. If you want to continue with using the moisturizer and don't mind samples, look at TesterKorea. They sell samples of a lot of Korean brands and it usually works out much much cheaper to bulk buy samples rather than paying for full size item outright.

in general, premium Korean brands is NOT wallet friendly. .Case in point, sum37 miracle cleansing stick. literally washing my face with roses every night but its almost $30 but I lub it <3. Also brought one of their set thingies which I haven't even tested yet. But it includes a mask, which I've looked up online and it's like $90 for a box of 8. I'm scare that I'll try it, fall in love and then weep cuz I won't ever be able to use another one ever again :(

Sulwhasoo is one of my favourite Korean brands (besides Banila Co. and Innisfree). Their overnight sleeping mask is AMAZING and I've never tried their ginseng cream, but my mother has and she liked it a lot! I just love their products!!! *.*<3 But yes...they're expensive. I'm lucky enough that my aunt works as a make-up artist in Japan and Korea and always sends me and my sister a lot of stuff for free.

But there are also very inexpensive Japanese/Korean brands, which work great too. Like Wawaza (I SWEAR by their products!), Shiseido and Kao or Innisfree and Missha.

And I always wanted to try out the sum37 cleansing stick. Is it as good as it sounds?!

I got Holika Holika's Pure Mellow moisture tint and I really like it. It's not long-lasting (just a normal tint) but I like the color cuz it's not too bright.

Also I reviewed some Etude House products back in August :)

uh oh, i guess i need to watch this now.
yes, i do live an eco beauty life, thanks for asking. if i would start a blog about that, i'd be queen of the interwebs.

i have all these pure (organic) oils and sls-paraben-silicone-etc free products... i'm glad i live with people who don't care about beauty products, otherwise the whole place would be overran by eco friendly masses of goods.

if someone knows an aluminium-paraben-free deodorant that works, give me a shout. the only thing i couldn't fix organically was that.

my faves are the honey-argan oil-yoyoba oil-coconut oil-butter-avocado hair/face mask that i make every couple of weeks, and then argan oil for the ends of my hair, and then... i have too many faves. i eat this stuff, too.
i could go on and on about all these, but i'm going to watch the show instead.

just watched it, it was fun. the stretching sequence i liked, also reminded me i should buy new running shoes.

i just randomly google ingredients that i see in the supermarket or drugstore. i'm still searching for related blogs. beauty sites if found so far don't take the natural part seriously enough for my tastes. so i just make up recipes based on some googling. but i guess in a few months there'll be tons of related blogs popping up. now i mostly run into blogs that would hail "organic" products that have like 1 ingredient that is organic, and the rest is just the regular stuff... or eco product, but then in a plastic tube with a paper wrapping tucked into some see through plastic. meh. i collect then selectively, but still. yes, i have serious first world problems.

it's a tough one, moving on to more natural stuff changes your shelves and drawers completely.
oh olive oil is amazing, too. well, if you liked having that on your hair, go for it.

this beach organic line i also stumbled across, i should give it a go, the ingredient list looks good.

bionsen's ingredient list had some weird things in there when i checked, even the ubersensitive one, so that's out:( i don't remember what it was, maybe just alcohol or something. pitrok i need to try, thanks.

I have a few eco things I use like haldi for skin and ubtan and I use mehendia to moisturize my hair

Date: 2014-10-21 06:45 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] shupagirl-uk.livejournal.com
How do you use haldi on your skin, as part of a mask or something or with besan?
Do you know how to make ubtan at all?

Date: 2014-10-21 06:58 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] torontok.livejournal.com
I make a paste of haldi with coconut oil and apply it for a few hours, usually on weekends because I look like a Simpsons character for a few hours afterwards. It's good for glow, and it helps moisturize dry skin in winter
I get all my ubtan form hakims (I live in Pakistan_ so I can't help you there, sorry.

does anyone know good (korean) skincare products for dry skin? my skin has always been dry but i feel like it has become even drier in the past few days. i already use products for dry skin and they've helped me a lot during summer. :/
i also get pimples around the time i get my period, any tips on how to avoid this?

and last but not least has anyone tried the eos lipbalms? are they really that good?

Date: 2014-10-21 09:55 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] chomsky.livejournal.com
I just wrote a novel above, but I also have dry skin and my face was great when I was using like the Sulwhasoo battery of products, although it is almost prohibitively expensive for me (in Chicago).

I'm in love with the Benton snail steam cream. I have combination skin but I used it most during the winter so I can attest to its moisturizing ability (not a fan of the tube packaging though). Plus it's apparently really good for dry, sensitive skin.

As for the eos lipbalms. They're aiight, but to me, they're kind of overpriced, don't have spf, annoying to carry around, and not as amazingly moisturizing as people say. I'm sticking to my softlips which I can get in a two-pack for the price of one eos.

From: [identity profile] kjc48.livejournal.com
I do a few DIY deep conditions and face masks every now and then. I use a lot of "live clean" and "simple" (skin care and hair) products [I think they might be Canadian brands] Plus the occasional Burt's Bees product (I like their lip balms).

But I never buy "expensive" eco products. Also the brands I buy are around the same price as the regular stuff (and regularly on sale).
