After several rounds of conflicts between artist and agency, ZE:A’s Moon Jun Young will be halting future ZE:A activities for the time being.
On October 21, Moon Jun Young tweeted, “I organized my last stance regarding this recent situation on ZE:A’s official fancafe. My agency, Star Empire will also issue a statement a little after. I’m sorry for everything. Thank you.”
The following is Moon Jun Young’s post on ZE:A’s official fancafe.
Hello. This is ZE:A’s leader, Lee Hoo.
When I look back on the past month, it’s been a stormy time.
I first sincerely apologize for causing worry during that stormy time.
Since my teenage years, I dreamt of one dream, and lived for that one thing ever since.
I wanted to be more active and more successful than anyone else, but due to two unfortunate accidents, I wasn’t able to do so and went through a difficult time by myself.
But more than me being in pain, it was a very excruciating time as I felt apologetic for not being able to promote together while I was the leader.
For the past month, I expressed my opinions on SNS.
I know very well the public’s reactions to my tweet, saying it was ‘thoughtless and emotional.’
I too am self-reflecting on them. Yes, my first tweet was emotional.
Disagreements with an agency is something that occurs in any celebrity company, and the members and I were working hard to solve these problems.
As I am an only child, the ZE:A members, who have been with me for a long time, are more than just a team, but family.
At the time, even though I was hurt and in pain, I was able to withstand it.
But when my member, whom I love more than myself, got hurt, I lost my senses.
And I fell into a very emotional stage.
The 12th, a day before the Japanese fanmeeting, member Tae Hun received a martial arts injury.
With that issue as the start, the complaints of the members maximized.
It was very difficult to fight with the company.
Coming to the conclusion that we could no longer communicate with the company, I began to expose the reality of ZE:A through SNS, believing in the fans and the public.
Profit distribution. That’s only the beginning.
The thing I wanted more than anything was the respect for the ZE:A members.
After that disruption, the ZE:A members and CEO Shin Joo Hak were able to meet and find a solution regarding the profit distribution and rights and welfare of the artists. I too believed that everything has been resolved.
Also, the immediate public apology tweet wasn’t due to my willingness, but were the strongly reflected details of the company’s stance.
But because of this tweet, speculative misunderstandings became greater about me, and so I reacted to that misunderstanding, becoming more hostile to the public.
Feeling that I was alone in this world, I perhaps needed someone I trusted and could tell the truth other than the members and my family.
I wanted to believe that I wasn’t alone, and the only ones that could believe me were the fans and the public.
From the ZE:A’s Day fanmeeting with the fans, I think the people who would know already knew.
And a few days later, I began my stories on SNS to the public.
But the way I talked to the public was poor.
So I was advised by the company to halt activities for the time being.
I apologize to all the people who became worried due to all the disturbances that I caused.
Because I loved rising to the stage and only looked down the road to becoming a singer from my trainee days until now, I promoted with heart of gratitude to the company and fans that provided the opportunity.
The reason why I’m still enduring it is because of ZE:A’s.
I’m sorry and sorry again for making it hard for ZE:A’s.
And thank you.
I’ll repay this back with good music.
Until the day I come back, please continue to cheer on and look after the other eight members like now.
Star Empire Entertainment has released an official statement, confirming the news.
Hello, this is Star Empire.
We’re writing this in order to give you accurate information on the conflict between ZE:A’s leader Jun Young and CEO Shin Joo Hak that happened in the past one month. First, Star Empire would like to apologize deeply about the things that happened in regards to Jun Young, the other members and CEO Shin Joo Hak and would like to sincerely tell everyone who loves ZE:A about conflicts between Jun Young and the company and the misunderstandings and rumors that spread about Jun Young and Star Empire.
Star Empire Releases Official Statement Regarding ZE:A Jun Young’s SNS Posts
● The reason Jun Young wrote on his Twitter: We doubt that a conflict between an agency and its artist is the problem of just one company.
Working with Star Empire for the past ten years, Jun Yong and the ZE:A members have been carrying out meetings with the CEO in order to develop in a better direction, trying to find middle ground among the members and the company. But on September 12, the day before Osaka and Tokyo fan meeting, the members’ complaints maximized when Tae Heon received insufficient treatment for his martial arts injury and leader Jun Young, who decided that he could no longer communicate with the company, decided to borrow the public’s power by announcing the situation through Twitter.
It was not a wise way but from Jun Young’s point of view, he had no other choice. Star Empire also feels completely responsible for bringing about the situation.
● The day after the 21st: the misunderstanding and truth regarding the apology tweet that said misunderstanding and conflicts have been resolved.
The ZE:A members and the CEO met immediately and found a solution heading in the right direction regarding profit distribution and the rights and welfare of the artists. Following this, Jun Young apologized for causing an issue through his Twitter, promising to show better stages.
However, the next day on the 21st, the publicly revealed apology letter on Twitter saying that all the misunderstandings and conflicts have been resolved were seen more strongly as the company’s position more than Jun Young’s. In the stance of the company, we thought that we shouldn’t create disorder for netizens regarding an internal issue.
However, due to this, the public’s speculations and misunderstandings towards Jun Young grew, and Jun Young once again expressed a rebuttal through Twitter, causing the hostility of the public to grow larger.
Again, due to the error in judgment by the company, we gave Jun Young more hurt, and we regret imprinting an unnecessary misunderstanding on fans. A day is not enough to express the complaints and resentments of 10 years, so to express the struggle and issues of ten years in just 140 characters was clearly not enough.
We ask for much understanding for creating more misunderstanding after he tried to counter the growing misunderstanding and rumors about himself on SNS with just 140 characters against a group of anonymous people before realizing that his words were meaningless.
● For future plans: we have constructed a new system reflecting off the opinions of all the members of ZE:A, including the current leader Moon Jun Young, and CEO Shin Joo Hak, and all the employees of Star Empire are sincerely apologizing for causing a stir with this issue.
Moon Jun Young is also self-reflecting on causing much worry to his loving fans and the fans for the past month and will work hard to show a better side to himself.
For the future plans, Moon Jun Young will be stopping communication through SNS and halt activities for the time being, so please wait for Moon Jun Young who will return newly refreshed again. He also left a last statement, asking for support for the activities of the remaining 8 members.
Through honest talks and the continuous coexistence with the artists, Star Empire plans on showing great things to the fans and will do its best not to allow something like this to happen again.

Date: 2014-10-21 10:31 am (UTC)Star Empire, management agency of ZE:A, uploaded just recently an official statement today on various social network sites (SNS) belonging to member and leader Moon Junyoung, as well as to the group’s official sites. It announced the hiatus of the group leader and explains the recent controversy. Moon Junyoung also personally reached out to explain and apologize for the situation.
In the official statement, Star Empire apologizes and explains the controversy that recently occurred between Moon Junyoung and the agency. In an effort to relay the “exact truth,” says the agency, this official statement is being released.
It explains that Moon Junyoung, the other members, and Shin Joo Hak, the agency CEO, were in conversations and negotiations about the future of the members and the agency. But one day before the Osaka and Tokyo fan meetings (September 12), when immediate treatment was not sufficiently provided to member Kim Taehun after his martial arts injury, the members’ dissatisfaction grew and Moon Junyoung judged that communication was no longer happening with the agency. So representing the members, he decided to borrow the strength of the public and went on Twitter to reveal the situation. While it wasn’t the wisest course to take, in his position, he had no choice. Star Empire takes complete responsibility for causing this kind of situation.
Star Empire continues to explain that the members and the CEO met and found a solution to the profit division issue, as well as about the rights and welfare of the agency’s artists. However, the tweet that went out the following day of September 21 that announced that a solution was found reflected the agency’s stance more than Junyoung’s stance. From the agency’s point of view, it didn’t want to create any more confusion for the netizens and the public. But due to this action, the speculative misconceptions about Junyoung grew and after Junyoung refuted these speculations through Twitter again, the antagonism of the public grew. Once again, the agency regrets that due this its misjudgment, Junyoung was hurt and fans’ misunderstandings grew. The agency writes, “One day was too short to undo the resentment built during the 10 years and 140 characters was too short to relay the effort and story of 10 years.”
In the final paragraph, Star Empire announces that member Moon Junyoung will be going on hiatus, temporarily stopping SNS communication and other activities. The ZE:A leader is taking time off to reflect after causing worries and troubles for fans and the public and to also work hard to show a better side of himself. The agency asks for everyone to look forward to Junyoung’s return.
In addition, the agency confirms that a new system has been set up after input from the members. It also apologizes on behalf of all the agency staff members. Star Empire promises for the future to deliver the best to fans through honest communication with the artists and providing a win-win situation for everyone. It also promises to work hard so that something like this won’t happen again. The statement signs off, “From all of us- Star Empire, ZE:A members, and the executives and staff.”
Moon Junyoung also personally wrote on the group’s fan cafe. He wrote: “The past month was like a storm. I apologize for causing you worry. I know about the responses of “It was rash, it was was emotional” to the my Twitter messages. I was very emotional at that time. But I didn’t know how to communicate with the public. So the agency recommended that I refrain from activities. I deeply apologize to the people I have caused trouble with the series of disturbances.” Junyoung continued, “It is thanks to the public I am enduring. Thank you. I will pay back with good music. Please continue to support until I return.”
An agency rep told Star News that Moon Junyoung is spending his time going back and forth from his family’s home and the group’s dorm. Star Empire reassures that he is only taking a break; it is not a move toward withdrawal from the group. It is likely discussion for ZE:A’s comeback album will begin next year after the members’ individual activities start to wrap up.

poor Junyoung, he's in this battle alone. hopefully later, the remain 8 members will speak up againts SE..

Korea seems to value the ability to "bear hardships" rather than actions like these.
I don't think other ENT companies will be willing to hire him as eagerly due to this incident.
