That was a surprisingly satisfying ending given the circumstances imo. Sigh I'm gonna miss this show T_T

IA op, I thought the ending was quite well done considering the fact they had to wrap it up that quickly. It didnt make me wanna burn something so yes I am satisfied. haha

It's ok but everything is rushed
The boss lady ends up with the witch, Hye Yeong and Big

Sadly Jinah gets the happy ending she doesn't deserve but the ending is a bit confusing. Which makes no sense cause in that ep alone she bullied Hani, caused an accident and so on

Yea, the Jinah part was sooo weird. Especially the hospital scene.
Did she actually get back together with HY? Isn't she moving to NYC? Why was she even having dinner at the shared house?

That part was really weird
HY called her honey, but he still loves and kinda waits for Hani, and Jinah is going to NY with the chef and... I didn't understand the ending tbh
I did skip a few part but everything was wtf
and what was that "I'll be back"
Just a terminator ref or?

lol, I started skipping too. But it still wouldn't make sense even if I didn't.

This episode just felt weird. They didn't really need the confrontation/cat-fight but then again HY needed to do the ultimate sacrifice to make HN "love" him.

I think the subs are wrong for that scene though... Jinah comes in and says, "Hi", but the subs say "Honey", which was wrong. Hyun Myung isn't dating her. When she puts on make up, he clearly asks if she's in love, so I think he is referring to her and Shi Kyung getting together. If she changed back to being the nice girl she used to be, then the chef probably did start to fall for her for real.

Ha Ni coming back didn't make sense to me though. But it does make me hope for a special episode or something eventually though~ ^_^

Yes
someone told me on tumblr that the viki subs were better
apparently it's more like a long Hi... which makes so much more sense

Lol @ see~
Dramas can be so ridiculous when it comes to making characters pure evil and then 2 minutes later they've become an angel.

It's kinda weird that SK is still talking to her. I assume at some point he realized she was an evil-stalker-bitch...

jinah's complete 180 actually made me just laugh in disbelief cos like really
she was just so spiteful throughout the whole series I wanted her like out of the picture

Is that supposed to be an open ended conclusion?
I thought she actually chose HY...

Well it was better than I thought it would be, and I like to think that "I'll be back" is the writer saying that there's more to the story and she'd rather leave a half-ass finale than actually complete the story.

Just never pull that crap again tvN!

ugh. just ugh. wth did they do??????????????????????????????'''

I am so angry at the writers. I feel seriously cheated by this drama and was quite irritated watching this last ep. Rolling my eyes at all the usual script mechanisms to make a ship happen in one ep, e.g. making Ha Ni always come with HM when meeting SK, her looking back every two secs at HM in the rain when SK was talking, her constantly mentioning HM over dinner. It was so blatantly forceful, she *never* acted desinterested in SK in any of the other 9 eps, on the contrary, she was always super bubbly and excited. I was rolling my eyes at all these *smooth* ways of making her realise she never loved SK but just the idea/image of him.

And why were they rubbing the pain of SK till the very end? Even after that one year time lapse they showed us him sighing over the fish scale. Seriously. what. the. hell.

edit: I feel like I might be being a bit unfair to the writers since they had a two weeks notice to wrap 8 more drama eps in just 2 (possibly one if ep9 was already being filmed) but still... I do appreciate the open ending per se, just not the way it was build up.

yeah i don't quite get it either, iirc didn't ep 1 show that she was on the beach or something on the 100th day and was reaching out for someone's hand??? or was the director just going for the 'lol this is smth like little mermaid' introduction but didn't plan to actually go through with it???

I'M SO DONE

That's what I'm most mad about...I started to watch the drama and continued watching it or that one beach scene, and now it turns out that it was just a fake-out.

welp, I just watched the episode and I'm just very ???? with the ending.
so if hyunmyung was the right guy (her OTL) whytf did she disappear (and i thought she was gonna leave in bubble form ala ep 1. lol) idk man i'm just so confused?? someone please explain to me

the finale though was okay though, considering the circumstances but still lol.

things:

- i blame the episode cut but gawd that complete 180 hani pulls from shikyung to hyunmyung was kinda hard to watch. The pacing really hurt any chance for me to be emotionally invested with those two and it's sad cos I really wish I cared more for the intended OTP. Especially when they had their cute af montage and were being angsty af at han river. I WANT TO BE SAD WITH YOU, I LOVE TRAGIC SHIT. LOL. I know that it was the writer's intended endgame and its shame that they weren't able to flesh it out more. But since it was 9 episodes of hani fawning over shikyung (and his butt) and him reciprocating (!!) and both of them being giddy and cute foodies together, I just didn't care much for hyunmyung and hani together. Shame.

- Also can I just say I love hani and I was sad seeing her sad cos she is sunshine and light. Like she's so bubbly and straightforward and it was just :( seeing her so down.

- Aww, Shikyung's monologue about timing was so spot on and made me teary. It kinda brings me pain that its hinted that he'd still be in love (like? idk) with her even she was a mermaid. He was a lovely character. AND NO TO JINAH NO. why did you have to do that writers??

- cos man, I wanted to punch jinah more than ever in this ep. I don't think I've hated a character as much as her. She was just so spiteful and vindictive throughout the series run (even to the people good to her! sunkyu and the sharehouse gang) so her complete 180 at the timeskip just made me laugh at how ridiculous it was. whatever.

- I'm also really sad I won't get any more of the big/hyeyoung dynamic cos its everything i love and more. height differences, shared house, friends first, girl is in huge denial, the jealousy and boy is earnest af SO CUTE I CRY and i think its the first noona/dongsaeng i've came across recently that i didn't feel squicky about (stares at high school king lol)

- Cute that they're trying tie up all the loose threads but ack so rushed. it was like yup couple here (jiyong and whats her name) and here (ahn manyeo and ceo lady) and look pop ajusshi sunkyu is indeed that guy on the net and is rich af

but man, I loved this show (well 9 episodes and a quarter tbh) gonna miss the sharehouse family and ahn manyeo and the all crazy antics. and I'm happy it came to be but I'm just mourning the fact we'll never get its fully realised form.

wow this became an essay lol @ me

i knew that this shit storm was bound to happen but i'm still pissed

the romance was so forced and rushed, i don't see why they couldn't just stuck it out with hani/shikyung really. my heart was breaking so much for him, he probably was just as confused as the rest of us like random umbrella guy who?! ugh.

the only couple i could actually buy into was hyeyoung/daebak, and hyeyoung's probably my favourite character.

my oppa left exo and i can't even get a happy ending in dramas too fUCK THIS BULLSHIT

UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I liked Hyun Myung as a character and I get the writers intended for him and Hani to be the OTP from the start, but they honestly fucked up the pacing so bad so that it was pretty hard for me to care about them as a couple. :/ Hani spent nine episodes only thinking about Shi Kyung with him reciprocating those same feelings but in the last episode it's like a flip was switched and she only cared about Hyun Myung. Like she went from being sooooo giddy and happy at spending time with Shi Kyung but all of sudden in the last when she's with him she only thinks of Hyung Myung? Lol ok.

Also why did she disappear and reappear?? What is the reasoning behind that. If Hyun Myung is her true love why did she turn into bubbles.

Ugh at Jinah's everything. She caused an accident and could've killed someone but she gets a "happy" ending? FUCK THAT. Why does she still have a job after that and why is Shi Kyung or anyone still talking to her why would anyone want to be involved with her after that.

I honestly enjoyed this drama but everything was ruined with the final episode. :( I actually skipped around because I couldn't bear to watch the entire thing tbh. At least Big and Hye Young were the only thing they got right.

I guess they did the best they could, but boy was this ending disappointing. Idk, imo it would have been better to change the endgame to chef and hani with only 2 (or 1) episodes to wrap the drama up. Her fast-forward love-line with Hyung Myung made no sense.

And I'm mad that they didn't get back to that beach scene from the first episode. That was basically the reaosn why I stuck with this drama, because the beginning scene was just s obeuatiful and I wanted to see how she ended up there and who held her hand :/

I couldn't stop crying throughout the whole episode, I'm sad that they didn't really explain why Hani reappeared but I think this was one of the better wrap-ups of a drama (wayyyyyyyyyyyy better than Gapdong imo).

I'M FUCKING PISSED THOUGH WHY DID NO ONE CALL OUT JIN AH FULLY.

tbhhhh I'm glad they stuck with Hani and Hyung Myung but I really wish they had just let them be together rather than the one year time jump. I felt bad for the Chef but there were so many hints about Hani and Hyung Myung it would have been weird to have disregarded them so late in the game. Of course this finale barely matched with the first ep's scene of her disappearing and that's all thanks to the stupid cut to the episodes.

Um...since the beginning from the synopsis it was already hinted that it was going to be Hani/Hyung Myung 10 eps or more, that was the end game, I don't understand these reactions to be honest.

Big & Hye Yeong was everything I wanted and moreeee!!! I was cheeding so hard, omg.

I'm gonna miss this drama, it was so good, really disappointed at the response it got in S.K. :( but overall, I enjoyed it, ending was rushed, but it was a decent and acceptable :)

commenting late bc i wanted to put off watching as long as possible :(

i will miss the housemates a lot! i love their family and the saddest thing about this cut was that there wouldn't be more of them. i like shikyung and his reciprocation of feelings confused me for a while but i feel like the hyunmyung endgame was really obvious a few episodes in. that said the pacing of the ep was really rushed and i feel like i didn't get to enjoy otp moments. shikyung crying was terrible omg :( :( :(

jo boah has really improved imo and i want to see her in more dramas. she played hani perfectly and i will miss her character the most.

ugh this ending....!!!

i get that the writers were shuffling for time but it was really crappy. it would have been fine if hani ended with hyunmung but it was totally rushed on her side and didn't make too much sense even if there were hints from before. i felt really bad for shikyung -shi...but the fact that she ended up disappearing meant hyunmung wasn't her soulmate...so i just took it to mean that shikyung really was her match lol but she ended up following the wrong thing (mind vs. heart). ;; ugh so stupid. that cliffhanger ending was too much when we will never get a resolution on how she came back.

also major no at jin ah getting the happy ending that hani never got. new york, shikyung, the crew sort of, keeping her job....NO. she didn't deserve all that rushed redemption.
