It has been reported that Dal Shabet member Woohee was taken to a hospital on October 8, and is still currently hospitalized, due to a condition calledpneumothorax, also known as a collapsed lung.
On October 10, a representative of Dal Shabet’s agency, Happy Face Entertainment, revealed to Star News and MyDaily, “Woohee is currently admitted to a hospital in Seoul for pneumothorax. She is scheduled to receive surgery sometime next week. We will have to wait and watch over her progress.”
The agency also explained, “She has previously received surgery [for this condition] about four years ago. As high as the chances are for a recurrence, we’ll continue to watch over her.”
Meanwhile, the members of Dal Shabet are in the middle of preparations for their upcoming comeback in January.
Wishing Woohee a quick recovery!

Date: 2014-10-11 12:53 am (UTC)I had a fully collapsed lung recently, and as of a week ago a partially collapsed one. It's not fun and what's lame but interesting is the partially collapsed ones are more painful than a fully collapsed one. With a partial you get something called pleurisy which is when the pleura (the layer of tissue around your lungs) rubs against your chest wall with every breath you take. It's SUPER uncomfortable and it's painful. I didn't even know when my lung had collapsed fully, it took me three days before I went to the hospital, got admitted and had a chest tube placed to fix it. My partial one right now is more painful and certain positions make it really uncomfortable. I have a feeling since this is her second one apparently that they're probably monitoring the size of this recent one and if it doesn't get better they'll have to do a procedure called a pleurodesis. A pleurodesis is when they place a chest tube and then inject a chemical into the lungs through the chest tube. The chemical irritates the chest wall and essentially glues the lung back against the chest wall. It's more painful and uncomfortable than just getting a chest tube placed, but it's a more permanent fix.
Poor girl, I hope they can fix her up and if so we can get a Dal Shabet comeback soon!
