hi omona :)

so a month back i had a horrid fight with my mom and my sisters where they clearly told me that i was a disappointment and wished i was more like other normal people. at that time i had thought that this was the last straw and i didnt care at all and should focus on myself.
but this week one of my friend on facebook had a holiday with her entire family and wrote a lovely post about family and togetherness and i started to kinda cry at that because i realised i still want a loving and caring family and me telling myself that i am better off without them wont change anything.
guess some people are just luckier than other.... :(

pros and cons about this place: It's very nice and fun. Lots of different levels of stanning. People are friendly in giving you background info to understand. The only cons is that I think there could be more content/posts. This is pretty much the only place I get my kpop info from because I'm lazy.

Yessss an early FFA finally! But it's actually already past 7pm and I'm going out tonight so I can't join TT

I weighed my bb cat today. I got him when he was just 800g at 3 months old is now 4,3kg at almost 11 months. He's bigger than my other cat now and still growing!
I've been reading tons of mangas! I stopped reading them ~7 years ago and now I'm making up for it

My earlier rant on fan entitlement with Kris and Luhan

After reading the comments I just want to say the fan entitlement and denial is what really gets me about all of this. I was going to say nothing but here's a rant anyway.

Kris and Luhan have the exact same conditions in their lawsuits (with Luhan going one better and mentioning the income disparity based on endorsements). The only difference is that Kris said, "This is enough," after the Chinese Overdose promotions ended and before the concert tour. Fans got upset because they didn't get to see OT12 on tour and said Kris was "selfish" for inconveniencing the fans and the group.

With Luhan everyone got to voyeuristically watch his slow decline as he sacrificed his health and started missing concerts because he physically could not attend. No one can convince me that was the better option. HEALTH COMES FIRST. Are they happy they got to watch Luhan go from bad to worse? Probably...which is very disturbing.

Nothing changed in SM during those five months and their conditions did not improve. The only difference is fans think that because they watched Luhan slowly collapse it's okay...why did Luhan need to work to collapse for it to be okay? People need to realize the problem is with SM. Kris and Luhan are suing because their conditions were unfair and they find their contracts to be illegal.

If anything I wish Luhan had left EARLIER before his health failed in an obvious way. Your health is a concern for life.

Now onto the more opinion based complaints:

People complained about Kris leaving before the concerts but concerts change all the time including the same day. Members from various groups are unable to appear at the last minute all the time.

The other is "EXO was blindsided." Can anyone live and work with someone and know nothing about their feelings? You don't know who in the group did or did not know. The same situation occurred with Luhan. People can only claim they think the others knew. In reality he could have also said nothing but EXO has matured and knows better after the last time and Yixing feels okay saying his viewpoint (even though he is going to get trashed in Korea and by the fans for it.

The end point is fandom knows nothing and can only form opinions. I am very glad the response within fandom is more muted and positive but am still sad to see so many saying cruel things about Kris or Luhan. Also people saying things like they have lost faith in the Chinese members I feel like you should be losing faith in SM's treatment of the Chinese members. I cannot understand people defending or stanning an entertainment company. SM does not pay you netizens of the Korean and International communities. 4 members from 3 groups in 5 months...my Sica...

why did you join omona? I've known about omona since 09, but didn't really get into the kpop fandom until late 2009 and I needed a place besides tumblr where I could discuss butts and objectify my oppas with like minded people.
what was the first scandal you experienced here? lol shit, i don't remember. I was DEFINITELY here for the Lucifer posts because I remember wanting to kill each and every post about that damn MV. But I think my favorite is, without a doubt, Seungri's sex scandal because I KNEW that he would be the one to give me the kpop sex scandal I was looking for. :')
pros and cons about this place: Back when I was super active, the chatting FFAs were fantastic and I made a lot of friends there. Cons? I mean, I think any time you have out of control trolling in a comm is going to be a con, especially on LJ comms where people can be purposefully obtuse. I also think that any fandom where you have lots of male stars really brings out the blinders in its female fans, which is really sad to see.
have you made friends from this place? (if not, is now a good time?) Yep! Many of them don't frequent omona anymore, so that's what Twitter's for, I guess.
