IDK how anyone can deny this anymore. Both their debut and comeback coincide with another SM gg losing a member. They're talented girls, they definitely deserve more than being the group that gets thrown out as a distraction.
Choreo was a bit messy but not a bad performance. I think it'll get better over time....they probably got like 1 month to practice this. I was ready to cringe at Joy and Irene's singing but they actually surprised me.
Hopefully SM will get their shit together and not give the girls the short end of the stick with their next single/album.
The styling is on point! I hope more people will warm up to Wendy this comeback, she's so great but it bums me to see comments calling her the ugly one of the group like
That just makes me shake my head. She is the most distinctly attractive member to me. They're all very pretty but she's pretty in a less "cutesy" way and if that's why they're hating on her then rme.
I think Joy is just too young for this concept? Sometimes she manages to smile but other times she does not seem to be in the same performing zone as the others.
Slightly concerned about Wendy's throat sounding tight with some of the high notes (and Seulgi's occasionally too), some of the melodies are pretty awkward to sing to be fair. The two of them were everything in this performance though.
Nah, I think Joy is okay~ Yeah, there's some awkward steps going on but it's probably because it's the comeback stage~ She's 18 (19 in Korea), she'll be fine (◡‿◡✿)
I agree with alot of what people have already said. Seulgi is such a huge stand out though, you can tell she's wanted this for so long and is happy to finally be doing it. It's bittersweet knowing SM will eventually suck the passion out of her.
Seulgi has really good stage presence and fiery eyes, I like her. Wendy has a nice voice. Don't have an opinion on either Irene or Joy yet, they didn't get a lot of camera time and when they did they failed to leave an impression...
I'm not buying these vocals as live - sounds like they re-recorded a rougher vocal track and lipsynced to it because you can still hear the breathiness and some off notes here and there, but the vocals aren't destabilizing at moments when they'd literally have to even for a singer with perfect breathing technique (the big hair flips, for instance). Like, they're wavering when they shouldn't and not wavering when they should. I don't expect SM to let their groups sing their debut stages for a song live, but I'd rather them not try to trick me, either.
That said, they all look gorgeous. Choreo is a little sloppy but that's not surprising. They'll get better as promotions progress, but in general I don't think anyone in this group is an amazing dancer so I don't expect much. If we're to believe that Seulgi and Irene are the best dancers in this group, then it's pretty obvious this group is going to be a little rough in that area, as Seulgi and Irene are serviceable dancers, but not exactly mesmerizing.
I'm always so perplexed when I see people in posts saying "their vocals were good at least" when you can clearly tell they are lip synching to pre-recorded "live" tracks, and not even doing it well at that. You can clearly see that they are merely moving their lips at some points and putting no real effort behind the notes they're supposed to be singing. Especially with SM artists for awhile now. I started noticing this "trick" during IGAB promotions.
they're obviously working hard and even if it's lip-synced i'm happy with this (was expecting worse from joy and irene) but it's so jarring seeing this straight after happiness? kinda uncomf
This is such a let down, imo. Happiness was a mess but it was fun and enjoyable and I was probably expecting too much from their second release. I find the song sort of bland and the live perf looks way too unprepared.

It's just a bad, boring comeback song. Something like this should've waited. They needed a catchier song. I get that they want to show a different side from when they first debuted, but ehhh. They're just coming off as a basic SNSD replacement.
Howwww. When has SNSD done anything even remotely jazzy/R&B? There are literally no similarities other than suits, which were worn by SES in the original version of their song so even that has nothing to do with SNSD.
